skip-zip Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Ohio.com is saying that Nicely has been named the starter for the Syracuse game. I wish him luck, and to the rest of our team as well. Looking forward to opening day. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 I think we'll still see Rodgers in wildcat packages. He may have been the best rusher on the team last season. Quote

I haven't looked closely at his rushing stats, but I believe he rushed for 80 yards in the first half alone in that Ohio game, before getting knocked out just before halftime. I hope we see him as well. He might never be a great QB, but he is a playmaker. Quote

I want to see Rodgers in a baseball cap, holding a clip board. Maybe mop-up duty vs. Gardner Webb and K.e.n.t. too. Quote

Concentrate on running your offensive scheme properly and you don't need any bs "package" I remember last year a reporter asked Bruce Arians about running the "wild cat" package for his team. His response was "he'll get killed, there is only one guy in this league that can run that, and his name is Ronnie Brown" Sometimes if a backup QB has a different skill set than the starting QB, I don't mind giving him a series and run your regular offense. I'm not sure that is the case in Akron right now. PD dedicates 4 sentences on the subject today. Quote
