Nick Dials new DOBO at....

Nick spent one year as the assistant coach at a Division II college in West Virginia and now has been hired as the new DOBO at Miami of Ohio!

Thanks for the update. I had no idea what was happening with him.

Because he was such a passionate competitor for the Zips, it's going to be hard for me to imagine him working for a nemesis. Especially the team that controversially cost him a MAC title.

Some quotes from MiamiHawkTalk:

"For four years I wanted to punch this guy in the face and now he's one of us...I don't know what to think right now."

"I hope he doesn't use his alma mater's method of OOC scheduling..."

My daughter will be pleased--maybe she'll get to see him again. ;)

I'm not surprised at all. If I were Miami, I'd probably be saying the same things today!

Good for him! When you're young and trying to get your foot in the door, you can't exactly turn down offers and wait around for the perfect situation. I'm sure Nick would much rather have returned to his alma mater, but this is a great opportunity for him. I wish him all kinds of success in his post, but certainly not for the sweaters' program in general! HATE RED

+1

In this economy, and in his field in particular, how can we expect him to pass up an opportunity that may NEVER come along again? I'm sure Charlie had a great deal of respect for the competitive fire Nick brought to every UA-MU clash. It's a good lesson in giving your all, no matter the endeavor, because you never know who might be noticing.
