It's tonight at 11 PM on STO.

I doubt they'll talk much about Akron, considering we were picked to finish dead last in the conference.

It is getting a late start because the tribe game is is about to end 10-6 in the bottom of the 11th. Adjust your DVR.

Pretty good segment on the Zips. Coach I wore a mic and provided some pretty entertaining sound. It is definitely worth a look. They love Nicely. I think the media and other team's coaches and fans think more of Nicely than many on this board.

They talked about Akron as much as anyone else. It was Toledo, Ball State and Eastern Michigan that got shafted in their coverage. Their fans have to be steaming if they stayed up to watch that. Especially Toledo. They got what, about 3 sentences?

I was thinking the exact same thing as I watched it.

It's because he's a pretty good QB.

Matt Rodgers had as much chance in the Zips QB "competition" as Eugene Jarvis has being a kidney donor.

Did anyone else realize that Wagner was listed as a Strong Safety instead of linebacker? Also I was kind of disappointed that they didn't even mention his name and what he did last year.

I didn't watch, but would have also been amazed if they didn't talk much about one of the best defensive players in the MAC, and instead decided to spend their time talking about another player who the coach did not even name as a starter until a week before the first game, even though he was competing for that spot against a guy with only one good leg.

QBs get a lot of attention. And maybe some of the negative feedback you get on this board about parts of his game is because it's the people on this board who have actually seen him play a lot? In both games, scrimmages, and practices? And in some cases, much further back than just his college career?

From Rasor's Edge:

Combine that fact with Nicely's strong camp and it wasn't a difficult decision for the coaches, who named Nicely the starter today over junior Matt Rodgers.

"As we evaluated the body of work, (Nicely) got far ahead of Matt," Ianello said. "We believe in both of them, but the team needs one quarterback."

Ianello has been silent about his passers until today, when he repeatedly stressed the ability of Nicely to make all of the throws in the Zips' new pro-style offense.

"I think the offense really fits Patrick very well," Ianello said.

If you've read anything I've written previously, I've been pretty consistent is saying that I don't like ANY of our QB options right now.

I got to watch this show last night. Worth while for any ZN reader.

I get why Stams moved on to tv. He and Underwood were good on the show.

Well shot, well edited, good graphics and informational. Great job STO.

Check it out:

Agreed. On the flip side, did anyone watch the Can't preview show? It was very amateur. I am from Ashland and it reminded me so much of Ashland College TV2 local access programming we had in the early 80's. It was terrible to say the least. As much as I would love to see a weekly show with Coach Ianello, or even a preview show, only if it was a slick production.

Also, Tom Linder, the voice of the flushes used to own a bar down here in Ashland that still bears his name. As much as I might hate to admit this to fellow Zips fans, they serve up some pretty damn good buffalo wings. His buffalo wing recipe is much better than his football preview.
