RootforRoo44 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 It's the big day...this game could be tough for the Zips if PSU scores first but i dont see us having too much of a problem scoring as PSU has allowed a lot of goals so far this year. We keep that Corey Hertzog in check and we will be fine. 3-1 Zips. ASN Preview Quote
Wally B Posted October 13, 2010 Author Report Posted October 13, 2010 I want a great game as long as the Zips leave the Happy Valley faithfull in tears!! Quote
Z.I.P. Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Weekday or not, it's hard to pass up a trip to State College in mid-October. Never, ever, visit Happy Valley and not visit the Creamery. PSU has a college of Ice Cream. At the Creamery you can buy fresh made ice cream. PSU students make the fantastic concoction beginning right from on campus cows. Let's make sure things are not all "Peachy Paterno" on campus tonight. BTW -- someone do a survey at the pitch and see if you can find coach Valter Bahr and his leetle boys in the stands. Quote
jem101 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Is anybody making the trip? I know I've seen on PSU facebook event pages and on this site that Akron is supposedly sending over a couple hundred fans on buses, but I haven't heard anything from the Rowdies about it. Almost makes you wonder if they're saying that just to get Penn State students to show up. Unfortunately, this one isn't as close as Columbus. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Frenchie just said someone stole the Zips jerseys. Guess they are gonna wear PSU's road jerseys?! Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 tOSU's John Bluem I still think it could have been a yellow card ... Quote
zippyfan34 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Frenchie just said someone stole the Zips jerseys. Guess they are gonna wear PSU's road jerseys?! There's no crazy NCAA rule that if you don't play in your actual jerseys you have to forfeit the game after the fact is there? I wouldn't doubt it. Quote
zippyfan34 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Blown offsides call leads to Penn State 1-0 lead. Quote
zippyfan34 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Zips answer shortly after to tie at 1. Goal Nagbe. Quote
GoZips88 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Yeah, but it pissed us off! 1-1 on a goal by Nagbe! Quote
zippy_ua_00 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 thanks. are we getting spit on by the big ten officials?? Quote
MDZip Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 We are actually pretty lucky we are not down 3-1. Quote
mes102 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 thanks. are we getting spit on by the big ten officials?? according to 1350AM we are....according to them, Penn State's goal was offsides by at least 3 yards... Quote
UAbandfan Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Listening on 1350 AM and the consensus is that the ref is losing control of the game. Inconsistent calls are causing players to get angry. Apparently what is OK for penn state to do is not OK for Akron to do. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 thanks. are we getting spit on by the big ten officials?? change that "p" in spit to an "h"...that's what's happening. Quote
bigsix0 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Penalty Kick!!!!!!! Good!!!!! 2-1 Zips!!!!!!!!!!!! Frenchie describes it as a scrum between the two teams after the goal. We are not making friends among the Big Ten soccer teams Quote
MDZip Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 ... he hits it! Zips Win! First win in State College in 22 years! Quote
