UAZips
I imagine a lot of ZN is at the game, but for us out of towners, we are underway in Akron.

UAZips
Halftime at Lee Jackson Field: Zips lead 3-0. Pretty thorough dominance so far. Akron leads 10-0 on shots, 4-0 in SOG, 3 of which have gone in. 8 fouls on CSN to 4 on the Zips.
Zips fan
I know this is a game we should win, but still good to see how dominating this team can be. GO ZIPS!!!

ZippyforPresident
Good win tonight for the Zips. They seemed to pretty much dominate in all facets of the game. Definitely a nice sized crowd on hand tonight. Both reserved and GA stands were just about completely full.
akzipper
4300 i think, close to 2000 students a little more than a Can't or YSU football game?
72 Roo
4300 i think, close to 2000 students a little more than a Can't or YSU football game? If you are being critical of their programs, be careful. This year both will outdraw Akron in football attendance. But since this is a soccer thread I'll offer that I can't wait until the grandstand is expanded and we are accomodating 5500-6000 for every game. This program is hot! RootforRoo44
Anyone see this mess of an article? I guess it's good to get coverage (TWO articles in the ABJ about the soccer team in one day!) but Marla Ridenour is so out of the loop it's like my grandma wrote the piece. 1)No, that was not the Attack of the Killer Bees on Friday night at the University of Akron. It was the Zips' first home soccer game since the vuvuzela became all the rage at this summer's World Cup. Ya know, it's not like we had those last year or anything. 2) The students even have their own takeoff on Ohio State's ''OH-IO'' cheer, starting a ''ZI-PS'' one in the second half. Of course, we are only copying off the "great" Buckeyes. 3) It also brings meaning to what the Rowdies are wearing — or not wearing. Several young men came shirtless. One with ''Potato 10'' painted on his back held a poster that read ''Caleb Porter VanDamme.'' God forbid she does her homework and figure out who "Potato" is. 4) Braden Pauley of Hudson, Jordan Wells of Hudson, Tim Alltop of Wooster and Amin Qureshi of Malaysia, all freshmen, spelled out Zips painted on their chests. The exclamation point had made a trip to the student center. ''We're going to do this every game, and we're traveling to Ohio State and Can't State,'' Pauley said. I doubt Marla knows that Can't State doesn't have a soccer team. It's just shocking how someone can be a professional sports writer and be that bad.
