Okay...here it is, possibly one of the few if only alternate angles of the game winning TD to win the MAC Championship. Because I am dork and love to do stuff like this, I decided to edit my footage and put music to it. Hey...this may be the only football title we get in awhile so I wanted to try to spice it up!

I almost got my camcorder taken as soon as I walked it but convinced to fool working security it was only a regular camera.

Please be kind, I do not work in the AV or TV field(wish I did) but think it turned out pretty cool.

Just the fact that it is footage from the crowd and I actually managed to zoom in on the catch I think is sweet by itself...the highlight is my buddy yelling "we won something!" in the background after Hixon made the catch...lol

Let me know what you think and lets hope the Zips go out and play like they did on this cold December night almost 5 years ago and get their first win...I wish the team could see this to fire them up!

Don't worry...it's not really 12 minutes(just 8 1/2) I just didn't cut the end off correctly but it was really late tonight and I wanted to get the footage up for good luck on game day.

We have this game recorded on our DVR. I was 12 years old then. I had school the next morning, but who gave a crap. My dad and I went up to watch our Zippers crush the hopes and dreams of NIU. That was one of the greatest moments ever in Akron history. Plus, I got on Channel 5 News. :) My dad bought us the MAC championship winner hats and I wore it to school the next morning. I marched right up to my science teacher, who was a HUGE Can't Statecks fan, and shoved the hat in his face.

We also have all the Sportscenters and stuff recorded from the next day to hear about Akron's great win. The greatest line ever wasn't about Akron positively, it was about NIU positively. John Anderson said during a highlight of Wolfe running for a huge gain, "Haha Akron, I will poop on ALL YOUR DEFENSE!" I don't care if it bashed Akron, because Akron won that game.

Bring on the puppy dogs of NI-Who tonight. We kick their butt in everything else, BUT football. Let's change that tonight. Go Zips! AND REMEMBER: :champs:

Excellent! I really like the music selection too :thumb: It makes me want to bring one of those shiny gold pompoms tonight, just to strike fear into the heart of NIU!

Thanks...I had fun making it...pain in the azz but I love trying to edit things and put music to it

Wow, that was great, seriously. Now I know why I sat through that game last night, because after sitting through 10 years of crappy football, I got to experience that single game. Well done. So, I'm 5 years into the drought, just got another 5 till we back into the Next MAC Championship......

Wow, that was certainly a different day for Zips football. What that team lacked in ability, it certainly made up in desire and heart. Starters on that team like Jay Rohr, Brian White, Dion Elie, Luke Getsy, Brett Biggs, Mike Donaldson, Jason Montgomery, etc. certainly weren't elite talents, but they played each and every week ABOVE their abilities, and you could just tell they took pride in their school and what they were playing for. This team is the exact opposite. It has a lot of talent, b,ut just doesn't give a damn. Outside of Alex Allen (who coincidently, or not so coincidently, was on that team), the guys now could care less about Akron, winning, or accomplishing anything above themselves.... they just collect their paychecks (scholarships) and show up on Saturday. The best thing RI could do right now would be to bring a few of those old guys in and let them explain what it means to put on the Blue and Gold and represent your school and your alumni. Maybe they should also get one of those rings fl@shed in their face and be told what it feels like to be a champion as opposed to a joke and a loser. I really wish Brett Biggs was still here and working in the strength staff, he knew what I'm talking about better than anyone.

Biggs came to play. I miss having a tough SOB like that in the backfield.
