jem101
College Soccer News already posted projected brackets. The one thing that stood out, is they have OSWho as the #4 seed, meaning we would potentially play them in the semi-finals. Of course, this is all just wild speculation as we still have a lot of "football" to play. Trying not to look ahead too much, but Santa Barbara and just seems so close. Go Zips! I'd much rather see Cowlumbus State a few spots lower, so they could potentially have to come to Akron for a Quarterfinal match. Can you imagine the hostility towards that jerk who just about knocked Nagbe's head off? What a great night that could be. I'm just so amused that we've established such a superiority over that school down south that spends more money on athletics than any school in the country. MDZip
They were also seeded #4 last year and didn't get out of the second round. I'm guessing this won't be the final bracket layout. Still nice to see us as #1 for the second year, but I really would rather not have Indiana and Virginia in the bracket with us.
UAZipster0305
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Ken Lolla and the University of Louisville worry me. If we have to play them, I hope it's at home.

Which would be at Lee Jackson for the trip to Santa Barbara. Let's give ole Virginy the warm hospitality they showed us in Cary.

Who knows.......if this were to occur maybe we'd even be able to drag Kyle Martino to Akron to cover the game!

If we have to play them, I hope it's at home. Hey -- if we don't get a 'L' before the tournament (and likely even if we do get just one), we're going to be the #1 seed. Everyone else has to be worried about playing Akron, whether on Lee Jackson or on the neutral field of UCSB, not the other way around. Overall, this whole speculation at this time is a month early. I don't want to read any more until we take care of the regular season and MAC. One game at a time.

I see what you're saying, but I'll take Indiana this year. They seem to be down. Plus, I want Virginia. To be the best, you have to beat the best. Virginia, until someone else wins the college cup this year, is the best. We would possibly play Michigan, which we will see how good they are soon. MDZip
New projections are up. This is all for fun right now, but look at who the Zips projected bracket opponents would be. That would be a tough road. In my opinion, by far the toughest of the four regions. #1 Akron Region: First Round – Sacred Heart (NEC Automatic) at Penn State (Big Ten #4) Second round – Winner at #1 Seed Akron (Mid American Automatic) First Round - Colgate (Patriot Automatic) at Connecticut (Big East #5) Second round – Winner at #16 Seed Brown (Ivy #3) First round – Virginia (ACC #4) at West Virginia (Big East #3) Second round – Winner at 8 Seed Ohio State (Big Ten #3) First round – Cincinnati (Big East #8) at Tulsa (CUSA #3) Second round – Winner at #9 Seed Creighton (MVC Automatic)
