zippyrifle32
wow i didn't know teams actually won money for their schools by going to bowl games. i agree with hurrying up with the stadium, and put grass in it so that soccer can play in there as well. we'd get a lot more people in there, and with all the success we're having we'll be needing it. Soccer can play on field turf. I believe the soccer team uses the football practice field when the Zips aren't. I think a lot of schools have gone to field turf even for soccer. The only problem is I and probably a lot of people don't want soccer lines on the field. It doesn't look good. Expand the soccer stadium if need be, but the new stadium should be for football exclusively.

zipalong
ABSOLUTELY NOT ZIPPYRIFLE32!!! You are not a soccer fan if you suggest playing soccer on the same field as football. Look at the mess Rhodes Area is, high school gym, square track (during track practices they open the door by the steps and started their runs by the walls ran through the door to the end of the track) and really useless courts. Guzzetta kept cutting down and insisting on a multi purpose facility which would up being what it is today, worst in the MAC. Thanks for the new field house. If they put soccer in the stadium that is a SURE way of Coach Lolla moving on to another university. If you have gone to Buffalo, their stadium is, as of this year, used for soccer. Awful. They have s soccer field, but didn't want to put more money into, so they moved it to their stadium, which short changes the soccer team. In soccer, you really want to be close to the pitch. Major colleges don't combine their facility, look at the 15-20 mil soccer stadiums that have gone up in the Big Ten, ACC, Pac 10, Big East. We don't want to take a step back, so keep those thoughts and suggestions to yourself! Go to a soccer match something, like maybe to Cary, North Carolina where the College Cup is being held next week end and you eyes and ears will be opened to really good soccer. UAZips
Hopefully the school puts out a TON of MAC Championship apparel. Not only is it appropriate for such an occasion, probably wouldn't hurt getting the word out that the program is on the rise.

Buckzip
Here is one more request......Sell a DVD of the game from last night. I agree. I would like to watch that game again. For some reason, wins are always more fun to watch again.

Zipsrifle
As long as we're throwing wishes around, here's what I would like, 1) DVD of the MACC game!!!!! 2) Magnets for my cars. I've made my own tailgating chairs and am currently working on my own car magnets since I can't buy any. 3) License plate holders. I've got a few old ones that need upgrading, and the new ones in the bookstore just flat out suck! They look like someone printed out "The University of Akron" on their Commodore 64 printer and glued it to a license plate bracket. 4) A CD with the fight song, Go Zips Go, Alma Mater, Win for Akron, .... How are you supposed to get pumped up on the way to the game, and in the parking lot without this? As you can see, my car will be very gaudy! I'm not sure how much Akron gets, but the MAC receives each payout that its teams receive for a bowl and the money is divided between the 13 schools in the conference. I am very sure this is how it goes down.
GP1
2) Magnets for my cars. I've made my own tailgating chairs and am currently working on my own car magnets since I can't buy any. I have some extra magnets from a couple of years ago. You can e-mail me through this web board and I will send one to you. Loyal fans should be supported by other loyal fans. I thought two years ago the magnets, with the helmet logo, were the best thing they have given away ever and they did it for only one year and then no more. Does this make sense to anyone but me? They could buy 1,000 of the magnets for say $2.00 each at the most. Sell them for $5.00-$7.00 each and they only have to sell 400 to break even at $5.00. I think they could sell 400 at basketball games alone. The good thing about the magnets, and this is an odd good thing, is that if you forget to take one off of your car, somebody will steal it. Then two goals have been accomplished. One, the University gets to sell another magnet because they are so cheap that you can easily buy another. Second, in a strange way, you have provided advertisement for the University because someone will hang that on their refrigerator at home and be reminded of the programs when they look at it. UrbanFox
Hmmm... 1. A smurf carved out of the rock candy sculpture. I'd like that. 2. Captian Planet becomes our second mascot (him and Zippy would get along). We could even be called the planeteers and have stupid rings and stuff. I CALL ACID SPIT. Then we dress Alex Trebek as Captain planet and launch him across the campus via cannon every game. 3. ROBS SERVES COKE PRODUCTS 4. We keep on bloody winning, because I'm damn proud to be a Zip.
