GP1
I'll be the first to say I'm not a fan of CoachI. With that said, this one is not on him. The Zips hold a division leader to 19 points. They drive down the field and are in a position to win the game with plenty of time on the clock.....and #82 fumbles. Please tell me this is the kids senior season. I'm absolutely sickened by this outcome. As Zips fans, we have an ability to excuse away our ability to blow games. The BB team loses at Dayton....we are in a building process and the team just needs to gel. The Zips blow a winnable game against Miami in football...the Coach is to blame. If players make baskets and catch/hold on to the football, we win more. "The more things change, the more they stay the same."....ZipsWin! We choked this one away tonight. #82 should is the most unreliable receiver I can ever remember wearing a Zips uniform. Just catch the freaking ball and don't fumble..... Again, please tell me he is a senior.

Lee Adams
Wonder what the game would have been like if Miami had its starting QB. Yes the players seemed to play hard. No you can't blame the loss on lack of effort. You can't place all the blame on any one play. Just like you can't place all the blame on the coaching staff. There is enough shared responsibility on the part of the coaches and players when a game like this is lost. There is enough shared responsibility for the state of the team in general this year. Bottom line is that the TEAM figured out a way to lose again. It was exciting to be there however.

You have eight guys in the box and you put it right in the honey hole. My 3 year old son could have called that game better than Inello did at the end. Alex Allen would have willed that win if bowling pin let him! Go Zips!

RootforRoo44
Are you kidding me? Anyone who watched the game would blame the coaching staff as well. The play calling for much of the game was idiotic. Every third and long we'd call for a screen pass, how are you supposed to pick up a 1st down when you're throwing 5+ yards behind the first down marker and expecting our sorry receivers to get yards after the catch? Not only that, after the fumble we wasted a timeout that we could have used to get the ball back with 30 seconds or so left. Doesn't seem like much but they were punting deep in their own territory, it wouldn't have been a long drive, hell we probably could have taken a shot at the endzone at least. Also, if you think the timeout was to kill time for a challenge, you're nuts, that was the most obvious fumble in football history.

At the middle of the first quarter, there were 1,027 people in the stands.

Dave in Green
7,671 according to the box Announced attendance is for tickets sold (including season tickets), not butts in seats. If jupitertoo's math is more accurate than some of the other claims he's made on ZN.O, 7,671 - 1,027 = 6,644 no-shows. Actually, 6,644 no-shows would not be accurate without factoring in the number of people in all the suites who would not show up in a grandstand seat count. DIG, be nice. In order to count the fans in the suites, Jupitertoo would be forced to exercise his x-ray vision. He learned this power while taking an upper level communications class at Ohio University titled "How to get a phony communications degree with no job prospects and be left with no other option than to teach part time at a large public university that puts OU to shame." JT aced that course, and it's obvious that his lifelong success can be attributed to the valuable lessons he learned that semester.

jupitertoo
Nice try. Tenured professor. Not communications. (One of the sciences.) And as for attendance in the tower, from my walk up and down the hallways of two levels last night, I'd say 75 max.
