Dartmouth hits Notre Dame with a blast in the final minute of the first OT to take town the Irish 2-1.

Wake up call for the Zips. Teams do score in the last few minutes, last minute, last second.

Zips once again shifted into sleep walk mode against West Virginia.

Remember leading Western Michigan 3-0 with barely three minutes to play? Lazy keep got scored on.

Today the same lazy, out of position keep got blasted twice. But, what the hey? What's the worry?

I'm interested to hear about what happened in the Cal-UCSB game. The gametracker lists 3 UCSB players as getting red cards in the same minute as the winning Cal goal.

How's this for multitasking though? Listening to the Georgetown-UNC game while watching the Creighton-SMU game.

UNC-Georgetown is going to PKs.

WOW! SMU scored on a nice header down off the crossbar in the 78th minute followed up by a nicer rocket shot from about 20 yards out from Creighton in the 80th minute. Then with 15 ticks left in regulation an SMU player hit a shot from about 35-40 yards out that sailed over the keeper's head, much like

in the WC this year.

In OT now.

UCLA beat Sacramento State 4-1.

What a wild and fun day of the tournament. Too bad it's not all televised like the hoops tourney.

I've been watching soccer all day. A lot of these places stream their feed.

SMU advances 5-3 on PKs. Such a shame, Creighton dominated and looked like the better squad most of the game.

Found some info on the Cal-UCSB game. Though nothing about the other red cards.

UCSB took a big hit in the first half as midfielder Luis Silva was given a dubious red card and ejected in the 25th minute.

Silva slid in on a 50-50 ball with Cal’s Servando Carrasco and when he got up Carrasco appeared to head-butt Silva, who went down. Carrasco paused for a moment before he fell to the turf.

As the medical staffs came on the field to check on the players, Gaucho players surrounded the referee to complain about Carrasco’s actions. The referee, MIke Kampmeinert, then pulled out the red card against Silva and issued a yellow to Carrasco.

The Gaucho bench was enraged. Coach Tim Vom Steeg went face-to-face with Kampmeinert and assistants Greg Wilson and Leo Chappel were screaming at the official.

Silva, meanwhile, was assisted to the bench, where he received treatment on the side of his head. Carrasco went to the bench too, but then returned to the field, giving Cal a man advantage.

UPDATE/EDIT: Check the comments for that article. UCSB seems to think they were royally screwed but this i guess is what happened:

The referee wasn't great but 3-4 UCSB players should be suspended. At least 2 shoved the referee after the game and another threw a ball at the referee. A truly embarrassing end to the game - and a complete loss of control by both the UCSB players and coaches. If I were the UCSB AD, I would suspend the players and the coaching staff which couldn't control them.

UNC advances over MSU 1-1 (5-4). Seems like the Tar Heels are much better in penalty kicks this year having advanced in two consecutive tournament games.

UNC is leading a charmed life this tourney. They scored in the 90th minute to send this one to OT.

More like life on the edge. They are ripe for an upset.

Also, Maryland scores in the 88th minute to go up 1-0 on Penn State.
