bUAkronG
for those of you that missed it, here is the interview. Very well done by Caleb. I literally smiled when he mentioned staying here. http://www.stationcaster.com/player_skinne...487&f=65068
Big Zip
I heard the interview live yesterday and dont' think I've ever heard Caleb sound as "cocky" as he did in that interview. But as they say it isn't cocky or arrogant if you back it up and he backed it up. I did love the comment...I've built a juggernaut here. Yes Caleb you have and we Zips fans couldn't be happier. I've had conversations over the last few days with people about soccer that I never knew had even a remote interest. The publicity you've brought to our school and the notice is awesome. This morning I was watching FoxNews and they even gave a shout out to the Akron Zips National Champion soccer team - nuts! By the way -- Sherrod Brown how about you get the boys from Akron and audience with the President to recognize their National Championship. If you can't do it - Rob Portman let's see what kind of Mojo you have with the White House.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the NCAA Champs always receive the invite. Virginia was at the WH last year, I'm almost positive. Anyone else remember? Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think it's automatic for the Soccer Champions. Virginia went as part of a larger event that included numerous NCAA teams. (EDIT: I don't think they do this every year, or at least I can't find evidence that they do.) UVA invited to WH
Dave in Green
The Zips did make it into the story about the Virginia soccer team's visit to the White House: News Link
GoZips
How cool is this? I attended a large auction in Pennsylvania Friday night. When folks around me learned that I am from Akron they started congratulating me on the Zips National Championship. A number of men mentioned that they watched the game on TV.
