I can't believe how bad we look right now. Going into the half down SIXTEEN. This is an absolutely terrible performance. If I'm KD I'm coming out of the half with Peterson, Egner, Euton, etc. in the game. These guys looked like they thought they could just show up and have the game handed to them. Terrible. Just terrible.

O-Who is the best team in the MAC again. Kellog is like an Armon Bassett, but maybe even a better shooter. He was a zero against Miami, but he lit us up for 23 points tonight. Cooper is still amazing, even withouth Armon. Freeman hurt us.

On the other side of the ball, Akron was awful. I can't even go into details. The only good thing about this team right now is Abreu. That guy is the best player on the team. He's a true floor general.

I left with 5 min to go. I don't know if I've ever left early from a game before. Pitiful. :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

..... Cooper's main claim to fame is assist percentage. When he's on the floor, and he averages a healthy 36+ minutes per game, he assists in 49.1% of his team's baskets. That's not just good, it's the second best assist rate of any D1 player in the country. Just for comparison, Rajon Rondo currently leads all NBA players with a 48.7% assist rate. So look for Cooper to be driving to the bucket a lot and passing off to his teammates. The Zips can't afford to collapse on Cooper when he drives to the bucket, or his teammates will be getting a lot of high percentage bunnies.

Tommy Freeman is the best 3-point shooter on the Zips schedule this season. Freeman is currently hitting 3s at a 45.6% rate -- easily best in the MAC and 37th best in the country. The Zips can't afford to play too loosely on Freeman when he's out on the perimeter, or he could shoot the lights out from 3-point range. .....

That's what the Zips had to defend against, and they didn't. Cooper tied the JAR record with 15 assists, and Freeman was joined by Nick Kellog in shooting the lights out with uncontested 3s.

End of story.

Forget about OU's record. They are the best team in the MAC because they have the best PG in the MAC, and a great PG can make his teammates and team look greater than they really are. If the Bobkitties can turn it on when they want, as they did tonight, they will certainly turn it on in the MAC tournament. If they win the MAC tournament, they're fully capable of taking down another Georgetown in the NCAA tournament.

Rico had his first chance to see the PG he has to learn to outplay for the Zips to become the best team in the MAC.

Essentially the Basketball team just gave a finger to the Soccer team with how they played tonight.

Amazingly, the Soccer team still got a HUGE ovation from the fans even after they were quieted the entire first half by that dismal performance.

The refs were no better though, what a joke on that flagrant/technical or whatever it was.

I had to read that twice to see if that was really what I saw.

About the only thing he did right tonight was make free throws. He had 2 baskets and 7 turnovers. He played horribly, and so did several others.

But, I don't think anything broke my heart as much as seeing that Zeke was so bad. I had hoped the Ken+ game was a big step forward for him. Even Cooper put a layup over him.

The soccer recognition couldn't even save the evening.

Abreu was great at the beginning of the game, especially that drive where he faked the pass and everyone bit. He scored our first 6 points and was the only reason it wasn't completely out of hand in the first five minutes. After that though he made a TON of boneheaded plays and passes. How many passes did we throw to no one tonight and uncontested layups did we miss to turn the ball over? Add to that the fact that OU drove to the basket at will, gave us fits with their zone defense, shot over 50% on threes and some of the terrible calls by the refs and it was like watching that Cavs game last night.

Yep, Abreu was horrendous after that quick start. Though the entire team played pretty poorly, he at least was hustling at times.

Also, McClanahan and McKnight couldn't have half-assed it much more than that second half. Lazy defense, no hustle on fast breaks, it seemed like they didn't even care. And I'm sure they weren't the only ones, but it sure stood out.

OK...so I "normally" would NEVER make any comments after games, just because of who I am, HOWEVER, I am going to have to "disagree with you" skipzip. While I will admit that the team AS A WHOLE was absolutely HORRENDOUS....I don't think that your statement is all together accurate. Zeke was 3-5 from the field and 3-4 from the line....while you have your SENIOR GUARDS (who are suppose to be the leaders of this team) going 5-13 and 3-8 or Serb who was 2-8...our guards played absolutely NO DEFENSE and was like an ice cube on offense.

There will always be major room for improvement...but if this is suppose to be a "team game"...where was everyone else? NOBODY showed up!!! If you just look at the numbers...Zeke played OK (in comparison to Can't)..and the one thing that Zeke is going to really have to learn how to do is to not allow those REFS and those dumb *** calls get in his head. When they called him for that intentional....I know that it really got to him (and then they called him for that ticky tack foul right after that)....Zeke is going to have to really learn how to play through these MAC refs and not allow those bone heads to get in his head and throw him off his game. Until he really settles himself down and learns how to do that....you will see little people like Cooper getting layups over him...because Zeke's first concern is trying not to get into foul trouble...although it didnt go so well last night...***sigh***
