zipsfan13
I think at this point we just have to accept that this is not a very good team. I agree. I'm definitely lowering my expectations for this team after tonight's game.
Zip Watcher
I think at this point we just have to accept that this is not a very good team. You go ahead and give up on them in January. Most of us will not. Go ZIPS!
UAZipster0305
I think at this point we just have to accept that this is not a very good team. Agreed. And when the team struggles, there is not a single player to step-up and put the team on their back. Overall, I don't think it is a lack of talent. I believe the problems have to do with heart and team chemistry. Defense and rebounding are all about heart and effort. There is still plenty of games left to be played this season though. I think we will rally. Besides, if we make the MAC Tournament, those are the only games that really matter anyhow. The other post-season tournaments are nice but the only way to advance the program and earn respect is to win the MACC and play in the NCAA Tournament. We will make the MAC Tournament. Let's see what happens.
RootforRoo44
It's a little hard to give up on a team that has as much talent as us. It's absurd we are playing this poorly. It defies logic. Maybe it's just one of those bad stretches. Hopefully we just go off later in the season when it really matters.
Dave in Green
I think it's more accurate to say that this Zips team has so far given us no good reason to believe they are a good team. As the season goes on, the picture will continue to become clearer. Maybe they will get much better, maybe not. I'm not giving up on their potential to get better, but I can't blind myself to their body of work to date. They are digging themselves a deep hole in the MAC to climb out of. They will have to have a major reversal in performance to overcome what is turning out to be an extremely slow start in conference play. Most of us will not. Go ZIPS! I'm not giving up on this team, but at the same time I can't say that what I am watching is a good team. This is the worst defensive team we've seen in the KD era and it is trending worse every week on that end of the floor. If that doesn't get remedied soon this team is not going to make a lot of noise in March. Can we get it turned around? Yes, but nothing we have been doing so far has been helping. Dave in Green
Yet another MAC team shoots nearly 50% from 3-point land against the Zips. This is a becoming a pattern, and there are reasons for patterns. To break a pattern, one must analyze and address the reasons for the pattern. zipsfan13
They really need someone who can step up and make some shots. Hopefully we start to see a little more of the new guys, because it's clear that the guys who are currently in the rotation aren't getting the job done. GoZips88
Buffalo up by 20 on Can't , 58-38, in Buffalo with 15:18 to go in the second half. Celebrated Excellence last night ... listened to mediocrity tonight.
Dave in Green
The other pattern that continues game after game is being seriously outrebounded despite having the only 7-footer in the conference. Is there anyone wasting away on the Zips bench who believes in his heart that every rebound belongs to him, and he's going after it no matter what? Is there anyone wasting away on the Zips bench who believes in his heart that every rebound belongs to him, and he's going after it no matter what? I really wish that Zeke would get pissed off and play with an attitude. He just doesn't seem aggressive out there a lot of the time. I understand, however, that he probably is reluctant to do that because he knows that most likely more fouls would be called on him.
The Hip Zip
For those of you that have not noticed, this is a slow, plodding Zip team with the exception of Alex and Quincy. We seem to always be a step slow and this has a negative impact to all phases of the game. On top of that, we have a guy or two that seem to show up about once in every five games. I would not be the least bit surprised to see Miami, BG or Buffalo take the east this year. The entire conference is a large pile of mediocrity, top to bottom. ZipGrad93
I'm just going to be patient. KD remade the roster. McNees is underperforming. The team is relatively young. I think KD will right the ship; just maybe not this year. Then again, maybe the team will collectively figure it out, and make a nice, deep run in the tourney. If I recall correctly, OU wasn't especially good last year until late in the season. Maybe that will happen to this year's Zips?

Our rotation is made of 4 seniors, 2 juniors, 2 soph and 1 freshman and you call that a young team? What will we have next year when we graduate 4 seniors and probably loose Nik? an experienced veteran team? Look at Can't's roster... that's a young team. Look at Ohio, that's a young team not us. We are a veteran and experienced team and this was supposed to be our year. We have the talent, we have the experience but we don't win... you figure out what's missing. dboze
This is what I don't get: Zeke goes 4-5 from the floor. We shoot 29% from 3-point land. Nick shoots 6-15. How come Zeke does not get more shots? If we aren't hitting 3's and missing easy layups, feed the guy who is shooting over 50% from the floor. ZipGrad93
REALTIVELY young, which I also meant to include experience... Key Contributors: Diggs - So. Abreu - True Frosh Marshall - So. McClanahan - Jr., but first year of real playing time that's 4 of your top 8, plus Nik who is a Jr., although he may leave, as you said. Egner and Euton should play big roles in the future, too. Who are we losing? McNees - underperforming; we're basically playing "without" him this year Roberts - role player Bardo - role player of little significance McKnight - streaky scorer I think we'll be better next year than this year, especially if Nik stays. Call them what you want; I think we're a year away. A year of experience and playing together under KD's system will make a big difference. Dr Z
Let me get this straight, a Charlie Coles led team scored 84 points against a team???? It's the most MU has scored on anybody this season in two periods. Coach K, I call him coach K because there is no D right now, needs to step up his game planning! Was thinking to myself last night that there has to be a joke like that (K without a D) in there somewhere. Well played! Humpty may have had his issues, but right now we really lack a perimeter player who was as passionate on defense as he was.

RACER
the main reason for all the trouble is we play in the mac east.look what buffalo did to Can't last night. the east teams just beat eah other up.the good news is we have bg at home.then we start to play the mac west.if we start losing to mac west teams then we are in big trouble.no reason we cannot win three or four in a row against the west to right the ship.
