zff
He signed with Minnesota last year but never enrolled due to a health issue. I may be wrong but because he never enrolled I don't think he has to sit out a year.

I may be wrong but because he never enrolled I don't think he has to sit out a year. He's considered a "transfer" so that would lead me to believe he has to sit? I'll have to ask around and get the real scoop...unless some Nation member wants to help a brother out?
Zips fan
He will have to sit a year. When a prospect signs a NLI(national letter of intent), he is then committed to that school for the that next year. If the prospect does not honor their NLI, they must transfer and sit out for one season. He will end up with only three years of eligibilty and be ready for action during the Fall of 2007. Buckzip
He should be able to practice with the team next year though. If not, he will have been out of football for 2 years. That isn't good.

He must complete a "year of residency" at Akron before being able to compete. But, because he never enrolled at Minnesota, his five year clock never started. He will have four years of eligibility left after sitting out next season.
