hafner4430 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I was unable to obtain a scarf this year or the year before and really want one. I was just wondering if anyone on here would be interested in selling a scarf from either year. Quote

I expect the tradition to continue in 2011 -- hopefully with a "National Champions" reference emblazoned thereupon. I'd just wait and buy the tix. Women's tickets only cost $40 I think -- or maybe it was 50. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I saw one on ebay yesterday for $5. It should still be there. Quote

zip37 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 What MDZip said! Personally, I would not part with either one! Quote

johnnyzip84 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 My wife and I each got one last year with the season ticket package. We now we only have one, but there's a pretty good story behind it. My daughter has a friend who is from Ghana. Over the holidays, she was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to visit the country and stay with her friend's family. As part of the "Akron/Ohio gift package" we sent along with her, we included one of the scarves because of THIS GUY being another Akron/Ghana connection. So maybe one day we'll see a picture of Kevin-Prince Boateng with a Socceroo scarf? Quote

Although I'm still bitter about USA missing opportunities against Ghana the past two World Cups and you had to bring up Kevin-Prince Boateng I had two scarves myself at the beginning of the season, but I had someone I never met before contact me wanting a t-shirt in Texas through the Outlaws. This person was not alumni or ever visited Akron before, just a soccer fan from Texas watching the College Cup. I sent them a little package with t-shirts and scarf for free. Quote

I already am a fully paying member of Zipzone...seems a bit much to buy season tickets when I live in Boston!!! Quote

I only got to use mine once last year but I buy them to help support the team. They want to keep these scarves exclusive to their season ticket holders, but as I think has been mentioned before even buying the cheapest ticket to support the ladies ($40) will still net you a scarf. Mildly expensive scarf but dirt cheap support of the teams. Isn't there a different soccer scarf that can be purchased in the team store as well? Quote

Seems like my plan to make a killing is getting started, now that the bidding has begun. Now I should be able to put my other scarf on the site starting at $100.00 and should make double that. And to imagine, people are GIVING away stuff to Texans! For shame. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I know of three people who are bidding on that scarf now. Wonder how high it will go. But the supporters' group that we have started, the "Rubber City Renegades" as we've decided to be called, will be taking memberships in the next month in a half and the plan is to get our own scarves too. So look out for those if you're interested in a blue and gold scarf of some kind. Quote
