skip-zip
I hate to say this, but, if we wanted OU to trade Cooper for Zeke, we'd probably need to throw in another player too.

FromdaBurgh
There is NOTHING FREAKIN FUNNY about this stupid thread. What the hell are u idiots talkin about..when u have MCNEESE go 0-6 from the field, 0-6 from the 3 and come away with 0 freakin points in 26 minutes of play. Then u have NIK go 4-10 from the field, 0-1 from the 3 and 0-1 from the line and only 2 REBOUNDS. You all are gettin on my got darn NERVES with the BS!! Get the hell off of Zeke who BY THE WAY...went 3-5..scored the FIRST 4 POINTS....went 2-2 from the line and in case NOBODY was payin attention BROKE THE ALL TIME SEASON RECORD FOR BLOCKS!!! RootforRoo44
As outstanding a player as Cooper is, HE IS NOT AN NBA PLAYER!!! He would get absolutely beat up in the NBA!!! Yes, in the NBA someone would knock him down once and stop letting him run circles around the floor. We get really weak when it comes to him. Btw, trading Zeke for Cooper is asinine for multiple reasons. Zeke played a pretty tough game at times and I wish his early intensity had been shared by the rest of the team. McNees wasn't the problem tonight. It's near impossible to blame just one player obviously (as most of the team played terrible) but if we had to assign blame to everyone and see who had the most, it would NO DOUBT be Brett McKnight. He really put us in a hole with some bad shots and even worse defense.

Listen, this thread was started TONGUE IN CHEEK And I said ZEKE because all things considered he is our most DESIRABLE player, being over 7' tall and only a sophomore. So lighten up. He is the only one who actually played decent. And he missed that bunny because he was fouled and they did not call it. That being said, DJ was surrounded all night by guys a foot taller and he kept coming away with the rebound. And sank 3 pointers from the other side of the room. He WILL be in the NBA. Reminds me of Earl the Pearl, saw him destroy us back in the day.

Dave in Green
Worst thread ever on ZN.O. Fighting like a bunch of little kids over who to pin the scapegoat label on after an embarassing Zips team loss is even more embarassing than the loss. I'll tell you what I'm losing confidence in. I'm losing confidence in Zips fans. Please pardon me while I take a little vacation from ZN.O. The atmosphere in this place just stinks. Might as well throw in the 0-Assist 5-Turnover performance by the guy who some people have been ready to baptize as the next coming of Eric McLaughlin. It was nice to see him hit a few shots though. It's just too bad they happened long after the game was decided. But really, that encompasses pretty much the entire game since this one was decided not long after the opening tip. Akron1
1. Keith is the top coach in the MAC. 2. Zeke will be fine. Love the guy and it is just taking a little longer than most want. 3. Cooper is going to play in the NBA.

UAZip0510
It's pretty clear that everyone is frustrated right now. I think (I hope) this thread was started tongue in cheek, but it turned into Zeke bashing, then McNess and Cvetonovic bashing, then a ZN member taking his ball and going home. Let's not forget that this team has won 7 of their last 8 games and has a great shot at winning the MAC Tournament, as they have had the last 4-5 years. Last year's regular season ended with an embarrassing loss at home on national TV to Can't - the Zips ended up being one or two plays from winning the tournament and returning to March Madness. To Zeke's Mom - while I disagree with bashing McNees and Cvetinovic, I can certainly understand your frustration with logging on and seeing a Zips fan talking about trading Zeke. I'm sure Zeke is under an incredible amount of pressure and that he is trying his best to do well on the court. With that said, when you play collegiate and later, professional basketball, you''re open to criticism, and Zeke's no different. At the same time, I appreciate and applaud you standing up for your son. There is nothing more important to a young man going through a difficult, pressure-filled time than a parent that's behind him. Kudos to you for being that strong, supportive parent. I'm not sure what Zeke will do or where he will go, but he represents the University of Akron as well as any athlete we've had since I've been following UA sports. Many athletes NEED sports as a ticket to success...Zeke doesn't. If Zeke was 6'0" and never played basketball, he would still become a very successful person because of his intelligence, personality, and wonderful support system. Personally, I think that is cool as hell. Let's move on starting right now Zips Nation...Can't's on Friday, the MAC Tourney's next week, and I think we've got a team that has a great chance of going dancing. LETS GO ZIPS! UAZipster0305
Zeke's name was the only one I heard mentioned in the first couple of minutes. He played well. Plain and simple, this was a team loss. It was only one game. We have won 7 of 8 and have our rivals coming up on the road to close out the season. Then, we have a great shot at dancing (provided we don't run up against OU who I hate to say it, have our number and are just a bad match-up for us). I think we will get our 20 win season too. I have us at 18 right now because I don't count that "scrimmage" against Milliken. Only D-I competition is worthy of counting.

Let's not sugarcoat it...Zeke only grabbing 2 rebounds in 23 minutes just isn't enough from him...he didn't play well at all. In fact, I'd say zero Zips players played well tonight. It was definitely a team loss. With that said, it's time to move on...Can't's up Friday!

Also at arguably one of the toughest places in the MAC to play. I think I may take a vacation from Zipsnation as well. How long until some of you idiots go back to saying Dambrot should be fired? Don't worry, someone start a thread tomorrow about how Abreu is better than McNees (or vice versa) and everything will be ok. Mrs. Zeke, no worries. It was a bad loss by the team, no more than 1/10th of the blame for this one, other than being short a few rebounds. There's just a bunch of fools spouting off at the mouth. Zipmeister
The real difference in the game Tuesday evening occurred on the sidelines. I thought the OU managers made ours look like they belonged in junior high. Their towel handling was superb and they handed their little water squirt bottles to the players like they had been doing it all their lives. Our guys towel pile looked like it had been stacked in the dark and I saw at least a dozen bad water bottle bobbles at critical points in the game. You cannot expect to successfully compete with this kind of performance!

RACER
mommy zeke don't let some people on this board get to you.they forget it's only a game. this is not iraq where our soldiers die every day.people need to get over losing one game, and get a life.my cousin was killed last month in a car crash.she was only 22.i am not asking for people to feel sorry. i am just trying to point out that b-ball is not life, or death that american familes have to face every day.just get over it.
