Sergeant Zip
Rookie free agent Chase Blackburn returned an interception for a touchdown in a 35-20 loss in Washington on Saturday, sprained his neck later in that game. Blackburn was placed on injured reserve on Monday. ESPN.com 12/26/05 Blackburn started again at Washington and returned his first NFL interception 31 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. He also had six tackles (three solo) and a special teams tackle. But in the third quarter, he sustained a hard blow to the head as he helped tackle Redskins tight end Chris Cooley. Blackburn was immobilized and taken from the field, and the injury was later diagnosed as a sprained neck. He underwent a series of tests and remained hospitalized overnight. Blackburn was released from the hospital yesterday, but will not be able to play in the regular season finale in Oakland or the playoffs. GP1
If he is placed on IR, can he come back for the playoffs? Heck, I don't know if the Giants are in the playoffs...are they?
