Z.I.P. Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 "To the line, to the lane, whistle...What?" Sort of makes me sad. What a GREAT article... and statement: Asked further about James' move, Tait added: ''For the past 10 years, the inmates have been running the asylum. Now it appears some of them have decided to burn down the building.'' And after saying he won't be watching or listening to the Cavs post-retirement, Tait added: ''If I need basketball, I'll pop on down the road to Cloverleaf. At least I'll be watching kids play as hard as they can play because they want to play, not because someone is paying them to play.'' Haven't heard his voice in near 30 years, but man do I respect that point of view. Makes you wonder how he's held on to the job all this time. And confirms why I haven't watched an entire NBA game in about the same period -- maybe since the Miracle at Richfield! Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Joe Tait said on Channel 3 News tonight (7 pm broadcast) that he will continue to be the television voice of the Mount Union Purple Raiders, and that he intends to keep on doing that job because "it's a labor of love". That's exactly how I feel about being a Zips' fan. (I no longer follow pro sports other than MLS teams with former Zips.) Quote
jem101 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 "Have a good life everybody!" What a class act. Someday I'll tell my kids about the greatest announcer to ever call the game of basketball. We've truly been blessed to have him calling the Cavalier games. Quote
Spin Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Wayne County Speedway. Joe Tait. This has been a bad week... Next someone is going to tell me Starcher's Pool Hall is gone. Quote
