Yeah, I agree. I can't imagine this being close. Even with all the guys OSU has out, their defense is still as strong as can be and the Zips offense is probably going to be woeful again this year. Especially if Nicely is still lining up under center.I would love to keep it close, the game a couple years ago was atleast entertaining there for about three fourths of the game. That was our best chance of an upset!I will still be going to the game and rocking Zips gear though!

The game will be aired on ESPN. Urban Meyer will make his broadcast debut. ESPN College Gameday might even show up. The media circus surrounding this game is off the charts.If you have any superstitions or supernatural methods to help the Zips, now would be a good time to start planning them. Do we really have 13 returning starter? I thought we had something like 17 returning starters going into last season and most were seniors . The numbers don't seem right. Help?

I think dreal's upcoming prediction of 13-0 is a bit optimistic. Therefore, I'm going with 6-6.edit: because dreal believes we will win every game, I provided my season prediction. For this particular game I see the Zips winning by 14.

Akron will have a much better chance with Moore back there. They will need someone that can move. Nicely will get killed back there. If Moore is as advertised he will at least keep the chains moving a little bit. OSU has all new linebackers back there along with some new faces on the d-line. Moore could make it interesting.

Unlike most years when they play a team from Ohio, OSU will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. Tressel also won't be there to pull in the reigns on the offense. We are another two classes away from even remotely being about to have the depth to keep it close. Unfortunately, I see us losing by about 40-45.....something like 55-10.

What makes you think that Moore gives us a better chance? I don't care if your Mike Vick if your o-line does not pick up the rush he's going down. What exactly did you see that I missed in the spring. What the ten passes that he completed to sideline reciever. Patrick gives us a much better chance to win. He works harder , knows the offense better, has a better arm, has a better head on his shoulders and has class. I really would hope that zipnation would support him after all he's been through but I'm well aware of the what have you done for me lately mentality. The loss of Pryor is going to hurt their offense badly, especially against top level teams. OSU is replacing a lot of players this season and that will show itself the first couple of games. Maybe we can get a couple of turnover to go our way. Combine that with the guys out because of the NCAA, the game become more competitive.Right now, I look for a 28-14 score. I don't see us being in the game in a meaningful way. A further prediction will be at least ten fans of either school will fall asleep from boredom. One half of these fans will hurt themselves as a result of the fall.There are so many questions about this team. We'll learn more about them the second game against Temple than we will against OSU. Temple is a more meaningful game than OSU. We need to come out ready to play and get our first MAC win of the season. I don't just mean compete well against Temple, I mean win the game. We'll be playing at home, at night and the crowd should be good. Anything can happen in the MAC. Temple may only be the second game of the season, but if there is such a thing as a must win, this is it.I learned from Bill Cowher that the most dangerous team is one with confidence and momentum. If we can beat Temple and VMI going into EMU, we can beat a bad program and come home for three straight. If we are 1-3 going into EMU, anything can happen because there is no confidence or momentum. Lose at EMU and we have a huge problem again. If we start out the season 1-4 with zero D-1A wins, look out...it will be a long season.

There's never been a real blowout in the history of the series. We always play them better than they think we will. There's never been a real blowout in the history of the series. We always play them better than they think we will. They rarely ever blow out Ohio schools. That is just the way Tressel was. Yes...they have 5 times the talent. Count how many NFL players off the current NIU roster and then count how many come off the OSU roster. Saying that, they are 30x more talented.

I am so thankful that we have EMU scheduled again. If we got WMU, CMU, and NIU, I would be worried about 0-12. Even I think we can win one game though. I think we go 3-9 giving the NEO sports fans enough encouragement and the "give iCoach a chance to build" crowd enough satisfaction to perpetuate mediocrity. Note: 3-9 is no better than JD's worst season.Against OSU, I have us losing 35-14 with a 17-7ish halftime score and most UA fans thinking, if only X fumble or Y pass/penalty had gone our way, we'd be in this or could/would win.

What record would make you change your mind about ICoach?? I think you are one of his biggest detractors and I am interested in what you think would be acceptable. Zach has already said he will NEVER give him a chance. I am not trying to defend him...the jury is still out for me. I have yet to decide and withhold any critisism until after this year. But I am curious what it would take (record wise) to turn around some of the biggest detractors.

I said i will never give iCoach a chance. But the reality is that I adamantly believe that he will never give me a chance to believe in his abilities. I can't see him ever leading the team to more than a single win per season at best. How can I give him a chance when he won't win?

Lighten up Francis. I only said we will have a better chance with Moore. I never said that we will win. Moore can move in the pocket. Nicely is a statue. When you are playing against a team that has more power, more speed and more talent, you can't have a statue in the backfield.
