Doug Snyder
I hope Akron scores here. Finkel going for the throat with a minute left is BS. Give away 7 points.
akronzips71
This is not my first time seeing an Akron-Ohio State, but at least Brookhart brought a fire with him against opponents bigger than us...Ianello just accepts defeat before even stepping on the field against these opponents... I still believe this, and all of you can disagree (and probably will), that Brookhart got a raw deal. I feel that there's a good chance that Brookhart would be still coaching if we never got that new stadium. Brookhart never had control with the disciplinary aspect of it, but he sure knew how to play against Can't State and the big opponents. Isn't that what matters the most in this sport? I want to thank MAC-Sports for making all MAC athletic games free...won't have to waste my money on this crap... Are you saying I won't have to pay that zips zone nonsense to watch basketball? Dr Z
I hope Akron scores here. Finkel going for the throat with a minute left is BS. Give away 7 points.Bad use of time outs by Fickell, or Finkel. Good to see other first time coaches making dumb mistakes. Too bad we can't get a receiver open to make him pay, although 15 seems like he doesn't need to be open to come down with the ball. I'll try to be positive...our special teams look better this year. So far my favorite comment of the game, "since all scoring plays are reviewed in the NFL, Tressel won't have much to do on Sundays"

Ours has had some nice punts, while OSU's punter is being lazy and sitting on the bench. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in street clothes during the second half, why even suit up if you're not going to contribute!!!!

So far my favorite comment of the game, "since all scoring plays are reviewed in the NFL, Tressel won't have much to do on Sundays" I think a big tactical error to start the game was not letting Moore throw it a little after we got the initial 1st down on the opening drive. Field position sucked the rest of the 1st half. I thought Meriwether possibly had the 1st down on the play that was reviewed and I thought the Zips DEFINITELY held on 4th down before the 2nd TD. I don't have Frenchy on, but is Rossi hurt? I don't recall a FB in a formation even ONCE in the 1st half.
akronzips71
CM8 showed some stuff at the end. Yes, I know it is prevent defense and all that but the point is, he is mobile and can make things happen. iCoach has to learn. Turn CM8 loose and let him make stuff happen. Use the assets you have. UAZips
My wife (who doesn't know a lot about football) asked "why do they keep calling the same running play? It isn't really working." Followed by this gem: "He doesn't trust his team to get two inches? That doesn't reflect well on his coaching if his team can't get two inches." johnnyzip84
Merely looking for players to make plays at this point. Just before the last TD TRUE FRESHMEN and WALKON Gary Ransom (#47) made a really nice stop.

johnnyzip84
Ianello mumbled what seemed to be a complaint to Fickell as they shook hands. I'm not really sure what Rob has to complain about. As much as I disdain the red & silver, I don't think they rubbed it in.

I was so riled up that I would probably have started a fight with any jerk I saw out wearing OSU gear at the bars tonight. That blitzing and those deep throws in the fourth quarter were classless, but that's what we deal with standing behind a bad program playing on a saturday against classless cheating program corrupted by shitloads of money. The passes were fine. They are trying to develop their QB and passing game. They were freshman throwing to freshman. . They were playing a lot of Freshman and getting them experience. If they wanted to rub it in, you would have seen throws at the and to punc in 1 more TD. I think Ianellos issue was with the blitzing late in the game. I agree with him on that. All out blitzes when the game is over are over the top and risk injury.

I'm not really sure what Rob has to complain about. As much as I disdain the red & silver, I don't think they rubbed it in. He was complaining about blitzing late in the game. And Fickell had the "who are you" cocky a-hole look and said nothing. Ianello also pulled 90% of the starters in the middle of the third quarter. That is a coach move to say "you won, let's end this". Bottom line. We showed nothing, secondary looked weak. If no injuries then fine. Seems to me Ianello's goal was to get game footage on everyone.
