Blue & Gold Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 The MAC had a pretty good opening week. (Probably not good news for us.) Ohio - 44 New Mexico State - 24 Ball State - 27 Indiana - 20 NIU - 49 Army - 26 Buffalo - 16 Pitt - 35 W. Michigan - 10 Michigan - 34 K.e.n.t. - 7 Alabama - 48 Miami - 6 Missouri - 17 BGSU - 32 Idaho - 15 CMU - 21 South Carolina St. - 6 Toledo - 58 New Hampshire - 22 Temple - 42 Villanova - 7 7 - 5 overall OOC record. GP1 Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 My biggest concern looking at this is the volume of points OU and Temple put up. Some other mac schools put up a lot of points as well. We put up zero points. College football is a game now of scoring a lot of points and making the other team keep up the pace. I don't see our style of offense ever putting up the volume of points needed to be really successful in 2011. Quote

MaxZIP Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 WMU looked good before thery fell apart. They will move the ball well in the MAC season. Quote
skip-zip Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 I saw some of these games. And to say the least, it didn't make me very hopeful for our prospects down the road. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 In the final MAC game of the weekend, EMU defeats Howard by a score of 41-9. No word on how badly the Howard band destroyed the Eastern band in the halftime show There's no doubt about it. The Zips schedule looks tougher after the 1st week of games. VMI did manage to lose to Delaware State at home 23-20 however. Quote
