Zipmeister Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Anybody watching FIU destroy Louisville on ESPN right now should be getting a real uneasy feeling about our upcoming contest with the FIUers. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 I've had that feeling since they beat Toledo in a bowl game last year. Quote
skip-zip Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 I see it....and I have the same feeling. Quote

johnnyzip84 Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 On the other hand, if FIU holds on to win tonight they have a decent shot of coming to the Info at 5-0 with probably more than a few votes in the polls. Their biggest hurdle after tonight is UCF at home. Ianello might not want to play them under those circumstances, but I like seeing quality opponents. Quote
GoZips88 Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Rough stretch for our friends at Louisville ...Previously #1 and now #5 men's soccer recently lost at now-#1 UNC 2-1.Football going down at home on Friday night nationwide prime time TV to former ESPN Bottom 10 powerhouse FIU.FIU looks good. They look like a real deal and so does their coach (couldn't resist). If FIU plays this way when they come to Akron, Lord help us unless we've found some mojo. Quote
Buckzip Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Give me a break. Lousiville is not Akron. FIU is going down. Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Give me a break. Lousiville is not Akron. Are you talking about the football that is played in First Energy Stadium, Cub Cadet Field? BTW, you should correct your spelling...I believe it's Louiserville. Quote
lance99 Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Does that mean that the Sun Belt is better than the MAC? Quote
skip-zip Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Does that mean that the Sub Belt is better than the MAC?I don't think so. But I think it does tell us that when you are one of the worst teams in the MAC, a good team in the Sun Belt is likely going to be a very tough matchup for you. I'm sure I am not the only Zips fan who may have looked at this game as one of the more winnable games on our schedule this year. Ouch. Quote

Ouch. When it first showed up on the schedule years ago I was thinking the same way. After each team's performance last year, not so much. Quote
Lee Adams Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Anybody watching FIU destroy Louisville on ESPN right now should be getting a real uneasy feeling about our upcoming contest with the FIUers.Well,FIU is way too athletic for Akron to handle. Too much speed and too much strength. Unless they come up with some injuries, its going to be a sad homecoming. When they spread the defense out they force you to try to catch them. Receivers have some size. Defense isn't great but its fast. Quote

johnnyzip84 Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Article on TY Hilton, a big reason behind the success FIU is having. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 At this point, none of our games are a given. Hope for some decent results today....maybe something close like later in last season? Quote
