akronzips71 Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Should I start a new fire iCoach thread?Maybe he will give us a break and quit? Quote
lance99 Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Maybe he will give us a break and quit?He will never do it. He has too much pride to do that. Quote
akronzips71 Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 This is too embarrassing. Game needs to be called due to incompetence. This coach just does not have a clue. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 11, 2011 Author Report Posted September 11, 2011 Temple has really hit the brakes and is just running clock and not making a concerted effort to score. Quote
bobbyake Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Maybe he will give us a break and quit?He will never do it. He has too much pride to do that.he makes half a million a year. Why quit when he can get fired with years on his contract? He'd get paid to do nothing. My solution to this mess: Akron needs to schedule 4 pay-days next year to help recoup the financial mess this has caused. Imagine the money we'd get if Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, and LSU were on the schedule next year. We could use that money to reinvest by hiring Brent Pease from Boise State. Then for 2013, we schedule 4 cup cakes and try to go 12-0 for a chance at a BCS bowl game. Quote
scottditzen Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 If the amount of activity on this forum is any indication, I'd say interest in our football team is close to an all time low. Quote

Why bother? We definitely may be rated as the worst team in all of Div IThere is really no excuse for this. We have resources, we have active players in the NFL. No way we should be this awful. Quote
MaxZIP Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Honestly, more flags and mistakes in year two. 41-3 to a MAC team. Dropped passes all over the field and an unmotivated team on the sidelines. Quote

Why bother? We definitely may be rated as the worst team in all of Div IThere is really no excuse for this. We have resources, we have active players in the NFL. No way we should be this awful. This is not a 'young' team as the coaches and a couple of certain media types want us to think. There is experience on the O-line,linbackers and D-line. NONE of those positions across the board are playing well at all. If Ianello insists on trying to make Moore a pocket passer he will get what he has gotten in the first two games. Moore is not a pocket passer. He needs to be moving in an option or moving pocket scheme. What we obviously know is that the Zips are nowhere close to being competetive with the above average teams in the MAC. Its gonna be a while gang. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 11, 2011 Author Report Posted September 11, 2011 And in two games we've been outscored 83-3. I had low expectations, but but this is ridiculous. There is no way even a respectable defense can hold strong for an entire game when the offense can't stay on the field for a few first downs.Cincy's offense and RB looked fairly strong against Tennessee. Next week is going to be another tough one to take.Let's just hope we can beat VMI. If not, I'm mailing it in for the season. Quote

His successor losing 21 more games than he won over the next 9 years just about drove me away forever. However, I thought Gardner Webb was really the all time low. And it could only get better from there. But, the disappointing thing right now that I'm seeing only minor indications here and there that we are moving in a better direction. It seems like an endless cycle of 2 good plays followed by 3 bad plays. I see some effort out here, and some fight in these guys. But, not enough people are doing enough right to make it all come together with the level of consistency needed to have some success. Quote
