Hi Zips,I'm traveling from Michigan down to Akron for the FIU/Akron game on October 8th and was wondering if you guys can answer a few questions and give some tips. I'm 26, and coming down with the girlfriend if that has any bearings on suggestions. I'm looking a decent hotel nearby and any good bars to tailgate and hangout after the game. Any bar districts? The game is going to be at 2PM, do you recommend buying tickets at the stadium or before hand? How are prices? How is the parking situation down by the stadium on game day? Atmosphere?Any must see/do in Akron or the surrounding area? Thanks for all the help in advance!

Welcome FIUPanther! You guys sure have a fun team to watch this year. I'm looking forward to seeing them in person.MDZip is pretty quick at the draw. I was about to post the same link.Definitely feel free to stop in Lot 9 right under the scoreboard prior to the game. I'll be glad to fix you both up with a few local brews and you can trade thoughts with some of the Zip diehards  Good luck against the Ragin Cajuns and the Blue Devils :thumb:

Thanks guys! You're right Johnny, this has been a great year... so far. I had to sit through a lot of ugly losses so this is pretty enjoyable! It should be a fun road trip. I'll probably be easy to spot as one of the few Panthers actually up there.

I won't be there until around 1:45pm, but should have a couple extra tickets. If you are around/underneath the Lot 9 scoreboard area at that time, I will cut you an excellent deal. :) Hope to see you Saturday. The Lot 9'ers are a good crew. I recommend you stop by and say hello. Many will be there before 10am. :wave:Addition: Here is a post I made on another site in response to a Temple fan asking a similar question. It contains a link to a ginormous area map that you might find helpful.
