Balsy
This came across my facebook feed today, thought I'd share. Brave New Films trailer for a film about the College Debt Crisis. Guess which universities are a big focus of it!? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guHL1pNtVS8
LosAngelesZipFan
Yep-- this issue is going to continue to grow I think. We had a great discussion on the board last year about this as the faux fiscal crisis/polytech re-naming stuff was happening. If attention really ramped on this topic, there would be alot of focus placed on the UA-KSU situation-- two similar public schools 12 miles apart spending $20 million or so just on football, let alone the rest of the sports, with neither really drawing enough interest/support to pay for it. Blue & Gold
Ouch. Maybe there shouldn't even be an "athletics" budget. It should be lumped in with advertising. That's what these sports teams are for any university.
kreed5120
Virginia last year passed a law that limited the fees schools could charge to subsidize sports programs. I wonder if this is something that you will see trickle into other states in the near future? http://pilotonline.com/sports/mcauliffe-signs-bill-that-limits-athletic-student-fees/article_337e7bec-d46e-5e15-bba6-6fc8de3a5f01.html
