Then if the 1 team ahead of us slips up and loses one of its 2 home games it would then become an "Akron Region" and we would have home field for the elite 8 contest. Quote

There is plenty of history supporting top 8 (if not top 4) teams winning it all. Outside top 8 is much more problematic. Where are our stats people on this? Quote

The last ten Champs and their initial seeding:2010: Akron #32009: UVA #22008: UMD #22007: Wake Forest #22006: UCSB Unseeded2005: UMD #12004: IU #22003: IU #82002: UCLA #32001: UNC #7So it does appear that a top 8 seed is pretty important.
