Some things to look for on Saturday

LR8 ranks 103 out of 119 QBs in college football right now. LR8 is 116 out of 119 in completion percentage!!! How can you paint a pretty picture out of that?!?We MUST improve play at the most important position to start to win games.
LR8 has shown he can run for a 1st down when the pocket collapses. He's a tough kid. Other than that, he hasn't shown much positive. If he needs to rely on the actual play-call, rather than running around like Fran Tarkenton, he's struggled. He had the chance to lead the team to wins against FIU and EMU, and the Zips offense fizzled in both 4th quarters. LR8 needs to pick up his game. Big time. Butchie could win, Frye could win, Getsy could win...even Jacquemain could win. It is tough watching such terrible QB play after a string of pretty decent ones.

Our top line running back is showing consistent improvement over the course of the season. A little stumble against FIU in production of total yards, but they were a much better team than us and we still hung in. He has had 131 against EMU and 134 against UC. I'm a believer in this kid from watching his effort in the tosu game and his stats as the season progresses.
Juwon played injured against FIU. I guess you didn't read that information. Not surprisng.

You guys got me again. OK OK let's use your facts this time and make it official!!!. We will compare first 6 games with the last 6 games and see how far he improves. (I will even get all the info for Nicely and make it a fun comparison at years end!) I marked these down:101/119 overall116/119 completionGame on!!!

Fun? I couldn't think of anything more depressing. This isn't about LR8 vs PN7. Zips fans just want to see good play out of the QB position so we get to watch some wins.I'm tired of losing.

Yea...fun was definitely the wrong word. Interesting is more accurate.I agree with you...I think we are ALL tired of losing. Since I can remember I have been the biggest Indian fan on the planet. So I know what it is like to follow a loser. i will say this...it makes that much more sweet when you eventualy win.

A reasonable position shared by many, including me. LR8's stats are in line with the on-field performance we've seen. As low as those stats are, I believe LR8's QB rating so far is still somewhat above PN7's from last season. So it's not like the Zips have a true QB controversy. Neither has shown they can carry the rest of the team on their shoulders. It's about that point in the season when even the most patient fans are expecting to see a better performance out of LR8 and the whole team.

The truth is...if Moore had not chosen to attend UofA and Nicely was the QB with exactly the same stats and we were winning...no one would notice. It really is about winning. When you are not winning things get testy. The season has gone about what I expected except for the EMU game. We are 1-5 vs 2-4. Since there is nothing I can do to make them better, I will just watch and keep an open mind to what is happening on the field. If we completely fail this year....next year will be brutal. We must win 3 games or it will effect everything. Even if we don't, I do not think iCoach will be in danger of losing his job...even if he should be. The financial cost is just to high for our program. So...of the options available at this time, supporting the coach and hoping for improvement is the best....and it is what I will continue to do.

if the team tanks it the rest of the way akron cannot afford to keep him.we built a 60 million dollarstadium that sits almost empty.look how much money we will lose next year on ticket sales, consessions ect.compared to what he makes it will cost the school alott less to buy him out.akron does not money when no one goes to games.if coach can turn it around with games leftthen we should keep him.if not then he will cost the akron U to much to keep him.
