UCLA-Arizona incident

wow. The thing that disgusts me is all the celebrating on the Arizona bench after the fact. There was nothing to be proud of in that video.
+1At the end of that video, the guy from Arizona who was ejected is laughing and smiling. If I'm his coach, he gets a couple extra games on the pine above and beyond what the NCAA hands down.

Im sorry, but if youre beating a team by 4 TDs at halftime, theres no need to talk smack and/or retaliate. Let the scoreboard do the talking for you. This really was, however, an unfortunate string of events stemming from the fan who ran onto the field dressed as a referee, distracting said referees, and letting those players get into it more than they should have. But yes... I was disgusted at the lack of class on Arizona's part. Your team just got into a battle royale with the opponent on the field, two players get ejected from the game, and youre slaughtering a team by halftime, and youre laughing, smiling, and acting as if youre proud of what just happened? Real classy

I respectfully disagree. There is nothing wrong with going up to a guy 4 seconds before half, winning 42-7 and saying, "You know. Theoretically, we could beat you guys 84-14 if the second half goes the same way the first half did." Or, "Did you guys just find out about this game yesterday?" Or, "You guys are going to get that guy who gave you a scholarship fired." Or, "The way you guys are playing tonight is a disgrace to college football." Or, a very fitting smack for the way UCLA's defense played last night, "Is this your first tackle football game?"I'm not a fan of one player telling another, "you suck", because the UCLA players already know that and there is little creativity. The average fan might be shocked to know the amount of trash talk that goes on every play. It's hard to hurt the blimp sized ego of most of the players with a few words. It is not OK to talk smack when another team is playing well and with pride in a close game. UCLA deserved no respect or sympathy for the horror show they put on the field last night.

I'm proud of the fan who managed to get on the field dressed up as a ref, call an offsides penalty, and then go streaking through the crowd on the field. I don't think he even got caught thanks to the fight. His plan was masterfully executed, from the infiltration, to the fake penalty causing the other refs to go along with it (referee group-think at its finest), to creating the perfect distraction in the form of a bench-clearing fight to allow him go running naked into the sunset.

This sort of reads like a Hemingway passage. Well done.

The folks out here in LA are losing their patience with Rick Neuheisel. I saw a report this morning that his teams have not defeated a conference foe with a winning record in over three years. On top of that, USC has dominated the Bruins for quite sometime now. I would not be surprised to see him replaced by years end. This was just another nail in his coffin. He has something in common with Ianello. They both need to go.
