Hilltopper
This thread really changed once the NewMember posts went through the system. Tonight is the first real basketball game at the JAR this year. Will I be able to hear the people standing next to me talk about the game, all the way across the arena from the band? Will they expand to have thirty trombones? Will they play Detroit's fight song (I think it's Journey's Don't Stop Believing)? I'm looking forward to hearing the band play tonight. I hope they play like they always do, because its very entertaining. I love the Trombone. Being a former Trumpet player, I wish I had learned to play the Trombone. I don't go the games to have a conversation with the people seated next to me, I'm there for the game. You know, the whole event. The cheerleaders, the band, the dance team, the silly contests....... Oh yea, I almost forgot the basketball part.

bandzip
..... the silly contests....... Bring back the defective remote control car! The cracker eating contest they had at the first exhibition game last year was hands down the most entertaining. After unicycle plate lady of course... bobbyake
was at the basketball game tonight and it didn't seem like there was a problem with the band and the rowdies.

He reiterated they would be playing Can't's fight song and had no comment on basketball. Interesting how no one even commented about the fight song after the game. Apparently it wasn't nearly as big of a deal as you are making it out to be. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that Detroit's fight song probably isn't "Dont' Stop Believing." Hilltopper
Darn, there were only 3 trombones last night! Still sounded great though.

Similar to the soccer games, the samba band works great, but when they brought reinforcements, everything went down the drain.
