Bobcats off to a quick start, but Tettleton (didn't know he was Mickey's kid until tonight) just let the Huskies back into it with a poor decision. Lots of mistakes so far, but Soluch's defense looks as solid as ever.

OU 13

NIU 0

NIU starting to turn the momentum, but they're still down 20-7 late in the 3rd. Harnish looked like he might be heating up the last drive, though.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a Husky comeback win. NIU looks like they've figured out the OU offense.

Drama always seems to find its way to Ford Field in early December.

It does seem like this is a great game every year.

They showed a clip of our last second TD.

NIU going for the game winning FG w/ 5-seconds remaining.

Frank Solich icing the kicker. Taking a page out of the iCoach playbook!

And they showed Getsy-to-Hixon from an angle I've never seen before :thumb:

Solich coached his team to defeat through some of his play callings late in the 4th quarter and NIU took advantage. I'm glad for the Huskies. They have had some tough luck in the MAC championship game. That winning field goal squeaked by the left post. Five yards further out and he misses it. Very entertaining game.

BTW, NIU's new head coach was a career assistant with no head coaching experience when he got the job. He was a Wisconsin assistant for six years. He inherited a decent team, but he did a nice job and got the most out of his players.

We should call you the Oracle. Nice call.

You could just sense the momentum swinging, although in the end a few questionable play calls did OU in.

Good post. Very exciting game.

NIU's coach didn't just inherit decent team with talent, he inherited lots of veteran players. Taking over a team with a successful fifth year senior is a great start. The experience probably helped them stay composed last night.

Not to mention the likely MVP in the MAC,Chandler Harnish. Boy wouldn't it be nice just to have a chance to get to that game again?

NIU has a history of winning in the MAC and I'm sure that helps. Solich has turned a loser program into a winner....here is a case for getting an experienced coach from DI-A. Our program has a long DI-A history of losing. One wrong move in 2005 (by anybody, not just us), and we would never have a MAC Championship and still not have gone to a DI-A Bowl game. Our past 3 coaches have been assistants, I want someone who has been HC experience and was successful.
