Big Zip
Your going to fault the Bookstore for wanting to sell all of their existing inventory before ordering the new stuff. I'm pretty sure the soccer team didn't clear it with the Bookstore when they made the change. They are just running a business and attempting to provide Akron gear for us to buy. I'm not going to fault them on this one.

UAZips
I'd be shocked if it was adidas, or of any quality. I've never seen a school that was so inept at selling merchandise. When I visited Valpo with my wife, their bookstore had TONS of nice stuff. Up here, both Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska Anchorage have very popular hockey teams, and shockingly, they both sell quality jerseys. smh

"They are here in stock and they are very close to what the team dresses on the home games. Unfortunately it is not Adidas. They are priced at $59.98 and are vented." Ando
Who do you guys think wears the 10 next year? The only returner who would make sense at all in a 10 is Caldwell, and even then that doesn't make a ton of sense
bobbyake
Not that they sell any of these But I'd imagine they get better margins selling the soccer jerseys without Adidas on them. I visited the fan store a couple weeks ago and the football jerseys are all on the clearance rack, while the soccer jerseys were on the walls. The soccer jerseys sell so they don't need Adidas' logo to help. The football jerseys need all the help they can get. It sucks, I'd love to have an Akron Soccer Adidas jersey. bobbyake
This guy, Bryan Huettmann is the Director of Merchandising and Licensing you can email him at bryanhu@uakron.edu to demand Akron Adidas soccer jerseys. My Email: I would like to buy an Akron replica soccer jersey from Adidas, why aren't they on the market?

I'm not going to fault them on this one. The old jerseys have been 50% off for the entire soccer season and they still have a full rack. They ordered too much even at selling them half off the entire season. The new jerseys are a lot better quality then the previous ones they offered. The jersey I picked up said $79 and others say $59. They are all supposed to be $59.

chris
Mr. Huettmann, you have mail! ---------------------------------------------------- Mr. Huettmann- For years now I've wanted to buy a men's soccer replica jersey made by Adidas, however the bookstore never has any in stock. All they ever sell is an off-brand one that is close, but not exactly similar to the jerseys the players wear. I understand that Adidas apparel will be more expensive for the bookstore, but there are many Akron soccer fans, including myself, who would pay a premium for an Adidas jersey. While we're on the topic of soccer jerseys, would it be possible for the bookstore to carry more variety, i.e. a better selection of numbers, both short and long sleeve and both home and away? Thanks.

I wouldn't want Scotty to change from his familiar #15. He scored the National Championship-winning goal as #15, and that's the number he should always wear as a Zip. chris
You send them an email and they respond, that makes me happy. I just received a reply from Mr. Huettmann. When ordering though Adidas, the bookstore has to order 300+ jerseys which is a risk if they don't sell. However, he is working with the bookstore to come up with a solution that will result in stocking Adidas jerseys, in short and long sleeve, both home and away in a variety of numbers. I didn't mention this to Mr. Huettmann, but if we were to plan a bulk order of jerseys, the bookstore/athletic department *might* work with us. I will give the bookstore props for placing the discounted jerseys in the back.
bobbyake
MLS replica jerseys sale for $70 on Adidas's website. I wonder if we got enough people to bug Adidas about it, we could buy them directly through Adidas and avoid going through UA's bookstore (Barnes & Noble).
