(actually, it was tough to find any dirt)http://nevada.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1...8977119&style=1

The MAC conference is usually a tough mother
Also, they aren't used to playing in front of big crowds. Their average attendance is less than 4000

3. Akron Zips (66) @ Nevada Wolf Pack (37): A game that started out on the bubble, but now looks close to a lock. Akron split two key games (W over Buffalo, and L @ Can't St), and now sits a game behind KS. Nevada won a pair of key road games (La Tech and New Mexico St) to pull into a 3-way tie for the WAC lead. Game is looking solid for the ESPN2 lineup.

They aren't used to playing in front of crowds? Well, Joyce, Travis, and Dials certainly are. Am I missing anybody else?
But in general MAC teams don't play consistently in front of big crowds. By "big crowds," I mean around the 8-10,000 mark.

from the Idaho Statesman . comWAC men's basketball teams will have nine chances this weekend to make a statement to the NCAA Tournament committee that the conference deserves multiple bids to March Madness. The teams take a break from conference play to participate in the Bracket Buster event put on by ESPN, and a strong showing by the conference could be the argument the WAC needs to justify multiple selections. Here is a look at the nine games involving WAC teams, with each game's importance given a rating.Akron at Nevada, 7 p.m. MST Friday (ESPNU): Importance rating: Off the charts. This is the most important game for the WAC. A win against the Mid-American Conference's best team could be the difference-maker when the tournament committee is deciding which of those traditionally underappreciated leagues gets a second team in. Prediction: Wolf Pack win at home.

We can go 9-10 deep and not lose too much depending on the rotation. Looks like that's a bit deeper than Nevada @ 7 deep? My son and I are flying out from Akron tomorrow afternoon and are looking forward to Friday night. I work for an airline and it looks good for stand-by availability out and back. Really looking forward to the game - sure hope Akron shows up with their 'A' game! :thumb:

Nevada has been playing an 8-man rotation lately, although Bell sometimes doesn't play as much against smaller lineups.A few things that may not be obvious from stats: *6-9 JC-transfer Demarshay Johnson is just starting to get comfortable and play a bigger role; he's been contributing a lot of inside offense lately.*PG Ramon (pronounced Ruh mawn) Sessions was bothered by a hip injury earlier in the year; he's now healthy and back to last year's form as a true FR, although his shooting touch still hasn't returned.*FR G Lyndale Burleson turned in his best game to date in Monday's game against LaTech; he may get more PT than normal.*The Wolf Pack plays very good perimeter defense, and G Kyle Shiloh is generally regarded as the team's best defender; and went from last year's least consistent shooter, to this year's most consistent 3-pt threat.*SG/SF Marcellus Kemp is the team's best shooter, but is streaky (not unusual, I know); he has the ability to take over a game, but also has a knack for forcing shots.*SF Mo Charlo is the team's best slasher, and the most likely to make the highlight reel; he slumped mid-season, but appears to be coming around.*PF Nick Fazekas is deceiving; you'll think, "he can't run...he can't jump...he's slow...what's all the hype about?".....and then he'll procede to hang up 20+ pts and ~10 boards.*7-0 C Chad Bell is a monster; officials typically don't know how to call him, and he commonly gets in foul trouble on mysterious calls; doesn't contribute much offense, but will occasionally come up with a jaw-dropping offensive move.Weather watch: Today's weather is sunny and brisk (forecast high of 38 deg). Winter storm watch in effect for tomorrow afternoon...stormy weather sometimes keeps a lot of Nevada fans at home, so stay tuned.
