RowdyZip Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Attendance for tonight any one? Was a big ceowd for a team with 3 wins. I was quite impressed. It was similar to EMU, except a worse team and during a Winter Storm Warning. Probably 4k again. Quote
Dave in Green Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Lots of little kids there with their parents. Must have been some kind of promotion. That's cool. NIU would not ordinarily draw a big crowd, so why not bring in some potential future Zips fans on a promotion? Quote

I'm guessing we're at the best numbers, attendance wise, of the Dambrot era. Quote

I'm guessing we're at the best numbers, attendance wise, of the Dambrot era. +1. Would you fellas attribute that mostly to our more up-tempo, above-the-rim style of play? -We play the same teams. -We play in the same crappy JAR. -We still get no coverage from Cleveland tv media. -The Akron Beacon Journal has done a nice job increasing their coverage of the Zips. But they've been pretty good for a couple years now. It's got to be the more exciting style of play, no? Quote
GP1 Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 It's got to be the more exciting style of play, no? Largely. Better talent also. Remember, basketball games are a form of entertainment. Themore entertaining it is, the more people will go watch it. Quote
zipboy Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 And this team is definitely fun to watch. Quote
akronad Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 All of the above. Plus, the biggest reason...winning! Winning cures all ills. Joe Akron is finally sstarting to see the light and attend games. Quote
