Bowling Green fell apart. They look hideous.

Here's the conference schedule.

v. Miami tough team, but nowhere near the caliber of FIU or Tenn. Winnable game.

v. BGSU, they look like CRAP the past two weeks. Winnable game.

@ Ohio, similar to FIU and Tenn, possibly winnable but unlikely.

v. NorthIll, another unlikely win

@ CentMich, winnable game

@ KentSt, right now, could go either way

v. UMass, if they don't win this one...

@ Toledo, not happening...

4-4 or 5-3 is not entirely a fantasy. Third place is reachable (Ohio and Miami's cake schedules prevent a top two finish).

I NEVER thought I would be writing this, but put me on the dadgum bandwagon! Tennessee is a top 40-50 team, better than anyone we'll play the rest of this season (sorry for that admission Jupiter2). Win the next two at home, and Akron becomes a bowl contender! Good Grief! Do we have to win seven to become eligible with the Morgan St game? I don't think so -- we can choose one of those every so many years to be eligible...

You are correct.

The bowl in Alabama would take the Zips in a second if they could get to six wins. I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but it is fun to talk about. The Zips would have to go 5-3 in their remaining 8 games to make a bowl. I don't know if I see those wins out there, but the way things are going, they could go on some sort of a run if they continue to get better during the season.

As the season progresses, the players will get more comfortable on both sides of the ball. It's important to remember that this is the first season of Bowden's offense and Amato's defense. The results so far prove that a system transition doesn't have to be like pulling teeth (ahem, Ianello).
