What news you do find usually warrants further digging to verify things. With that, I can say that 6'1" 185lb Safety Logan Cox from Parkersburg South HS in West Virginia has verbally committed to play for Akron. No hint of a verbal from this guy on ESPN, Scout or Rivals and the "profile" you linked to says he plans on attending the University of Akron; no mention of playing football for the Zips.
