g-mann17
We still have Toledo, but let's face it, at Toledo, on a Tuesday, that game is going to be difficult/near impossible to win. Hopefully the let down isn't too great from the Can't game that these guys can go and get another win. The best thing from this year is that a team of mostly Freshmen and Sophomores were in every game (minus CMU and CFU).
Wally B
There's no reason for the team to suffer from a let down... They played great and almost pulled the upset. Clearly, Umass is our best chance to double our win total from last year and attain TB's goal! For kicks I've been following the line's on the Harris poll which listed us as underdogs for everygame this season except Morgan State. Consequently, they update their predictions the week before each game and the Zips odds have consistently improved all season long. While everyone else was initially favored by double digits except Umass, the Zips are now favored by 12.5! We hung in there with Can't while the Massholes were absolutely destroyed by NIU. This is it! This is our bowl game, and our Zips are favored! I'll post my prediction later in the week, but I hope the team is pumped this week!! Dr Z
If anything, this year has been great weather for tailgating. Looks good again. Sixteen point favorites! Cover TB.

Um, it's a let down because its the rivalry game, they had the wheel in their grasps. You spend a lot of time and emotion preparing for a game like Saturday and its just one more in a long list of "could have's". So yes, there is potential for a let down. I don't expect Terry to let it happen.

Calling for 57 degrees Saturday? Oh yeah, baby. I boldly predict not only win #2, but I will also bet we have the best tailgate of the year. I am going with a Christmas theme because this win is going to be my early present. Bet you are wondering what my Christmas theme consists of...I bet you will like it. ditchrider1
I see Massillon vs McKinley is at Can't Saturday night at 7pm? Wonder if this may have been played at the Info if it weren't for the the UMass game already scheduled? Wonder what the attendance comparision will be? Massillon vs McKinley Part 2 or UMass (0-5,0-9) vs. Akron (0-6, 1-9) Possible lost revenue maybe...lol?

I'll wait till I hear from NewZipsFan before I predict the Toledo game outcome, but I have a feeling the Zips will thrash UMass by 14. I think we should win this game by several TDs................IF...............we find a way to make things happen in the 2nd half.

johnnyzip84
From the sounds of things at the K.E.N.T. tailgate, I expect quite a few versions of chili this Saturday. If the Zips can pull off the win, we could be looking at a perfect fall day Go Zips!!

Wally B
Good post. People are being foolish if they discount the idea that players are going to feel a loss like we had last week. I think we should win this game by several TDs................IF...............we find a way to make things happen in the 2nd half. I would argue that there's a difference between a let down and feeling a loss. iCoaches team would've suffered a let down and given up. While TB's crew will certainly "feel" this loss, they know they've exceeded expectations all season long; going from no-chance to competitive. It's not as though they live in a vacuum. In football, like any other sport, Speed + Depth = Success. The odd's dictate that "heart" can only do so much. TB's crew has heart, but lacks depth...... unless we're talking about Morgan State or UMass. This week, the odd's are in our favor. If this was iCoaches team, they would've suffered a "let down" last week and the UMass game would be in doubt as they gave up. I don't see it. Instead, I see hunger going against a team that is winless, and suffered several "let downs" of their own (namely OU). To me this is a team that's lost their heart, as witnessed by their 63-0 loss to NIU. There are losses, then there are losses! Fear the Roo!!!! ZippyRulz
A little sidenote: As we all know, polymer science is UA's premier academic program. Some time ago (last time I remember hearing about it), UA's P.S. program was ranked 2nd in the nation. #1 in the nation was .... you guessed it .... UMass. Wally B
Too many BS threads out there right now, time to get back to the game at hand! Sans our record, this has been an exciting season. Actually being competitive for the first time in years will do that. The Zips showed some heart against cant, and from what I can discern the overall health of the team is improving injury wise. (correct me if I'm wrong here, it's a little difficult to read from down here). Therefore, we should perform as well if not better than last week. MY prediction: Zips - 38 UMass - 24 Zips Nation is elated, TB doubles our win total from previous years, and the Nation see's potential for the coming years... Zipmeister
Massachusetts article on Molnar's connections to the area I sure hope this article is posted in the Zips locker room. It made even a happy go lucky guy like me want to grind the MinuteNerds into the ground. IF this article is posted in the Zips locker room and we don't win by 25, I'll be disappointed. LZIp
We really did draw about the toughest schedule possible in the MAC this year. Got the two best teams in the West, and even missed Buffalo, one of the weakest teams in the East.
