bobbyake
It was a remarkable season for Porter. Taking the Timbers from last to title contender in one year, his future is brighter than ever. I think he made up for his Olympic qualifying blunder. We were very fortunate to have him as our coach for so many years.
yazan07
Well in case you hadn't somehow heard already, Porter won MLS Coach of the Year. Pretty cool for a first year coach if you ask me, and absolutely well-deserved, despite what some whiny RSL fans are saying.

Caleb Porter's winning MLS Coach of the Year was nearly unanimous among voters. It comes as absolutely no surprise whatsoever. Dave in Green
It is no secret that CP wants to take over for Jurgen Klinnsman when the time comes. fknbuflobo
Looks like it might be at least 5 years: Klinsmann inks USA deal through 2018 That actually sounds about right, give or take. Next step is for Porter to dominate MLS, and he is on the right track.

johnnyzip84
Awesome read! Thanks for posting. I have to admit I've been the one to inquire whether CP's college to pro transition might resemble John Calipari's somewhat, given the boatload of talent both coaches have assembled in college. But this notion has been utterly refuted by the play of Timbers this season! CP, you are the man!Well as if I needed any more evidence to refute my earlier suggestion that CP MIGHT have been the NCAA Soccer equivalent of Calipari, Caleb and the Timbers certainly erased any doubt about how wildly incorrect I was. Caleb is now the 4th coach to win both NCAA and MLS titles. Awesome!

Zip_ME87
2015 MLS Year in Review | Portland Timbers...Most Outstanding PlayerHead coach Caleb Porter touted all season that his club lacks a true star, noting they didn’t have an All-Star or Best XI selection this season. But the one key in the Timbers turnaround was his shifting of Darlington Nagbe into a central role, allowing him to dictate more the pace offensively while also playing a big part defensively. His numbers weren’t gaudy, just five goals and five assists, but without Nagbe the Timbers don’t win the Cup. ...
