Yedlin throws first pitch. Starts around 1:21 in the video.

This was an odd (and completely erroneous) quote from the article:

Although the contest against the Portland Timbers took place in front of a measly four thousand fans, compared to the tens of thousands that watched each World Cup match, Yedlin showed now signs of tiring or drop off in form.

The actual crowd was over 64,000.

For Zips fans who will be watching the ESPYs tonight, DeAndre Yedlin tweeted his arrival in LA. No idea what he's doing there.

Edit: Well, just a little research, and I would have known that the USMNT was up for "Best Moment" for USA v Ghana.

From all the articles above, gotta be good to be DeAndre Yedlin right now, teams now fighting over his services, a nice $300K bonus from being part of the World Cup, man this young man has the world in his hands right now. And through it all it appears he is staying very humble. Gotta be happy for him (just wish they'd mention UA a few more times in the articles about him :)).

... and throwing out the first pitch for his hometown Seattle Mariners, meeting the QB of his hometown SuperBowl Champion Seattle Seahawks, flying down to LA for the ESPYs and likely socializing there during and after, his Sounders on top of MLS by a significant margin, ...

Rough week.

Wonder if DeAndre's looking forward to re-living Caleb's yelling when he's being coached in the All Star Game?

Road to Columbus: Wil Trapp

http://www.thecrew.com/news/2014/07/road-columbus-wil-trapp

I was thinking about going to Columbus this Saturday, but I like to know for certain that I will get to see at least 1 former Zip in action before I drive down there. Wil got 2 yellows (red) last night against SKC. I couldn't really see what happened on that 2nd yellow, but it wasn't clear to me that he deserved it.

Evan Bush gets the start in goal for Montreal tonight in Columbus.

Was happy to see the Crew win but sucks it came at the expense of a loss for Bush. I hope he gets more playing time. There was nothing he could do against Anor's 2nd goal.

That WAS huge! Especially liked the pic of Perry flying against UL, from (I assume) the national championship game. I agree that he should be a strong contender for 2018 -- and I didn't even realize Jermaine Jones is already 32. Wow! Nice to hear the previous (U-17) WC mention too -- Cabrera seriously screwed with PK -- his captain, there.
