Does anyone know if Chauncey is practiciing?

During the CMU game he ackwardly slipped out of bounds and came up limping. During the subsequent time out he appeared to be in pain. He didn't go back in, and last I saw he was with the trainer in the corner by the end of the bench.

He also only played 2 min. against OU, and appeared to be very frustrated, and walked into the corner as well.

Winning, and cupcakes, can mask a lot of problems.

We need Chauncey for the stretch run. For NDSU, K.e.n.t. and OU. And obviously the tourney.

I hope he is healthy. If he's simply in the doghouse, that's a problem.

Hey George - this is definitely something you can follow up on.

He's practicing. But, that doesn't necessarily answer any questions. If he's in the doghouse, he'd still be practicing. And if he's trying to work through an injury since he's down to only the last handful of games in his career, he'd be practicing too.

Frankly, if he is still having issues from the meniscus injury I wouldn't hesitate to shut him down for a couple of weeks. This team is deep enough to survive without him against the likes of Miami and EMU. We will need him more later (Bracketbuster, OU, Can't, Tournament). Is playing him 2 minutes per night on a bum knee really worth it?

I would think that any PT any Zips player gets after a medical procedure would be 100% based on physician recommendations to the coaching staff.

You are right Dave...As much as Chauncey wants to play the medical staff has the final say. Coach won't play him at this point unless he is needed. This has been really hard for Chauncey since this is his final college year.

It looked pretty clear to me that he was not running well. I know he wants to contribute, but if he is hurt he is hurt, can't do much about it.

Better to let Chauncey heal fully. We'll really need him come the MACC and if we hope to win any games in the NCAA tourney. When healthy he's still our best all-around/most-versatile player.

Keep your head up, Chauncey! We need you!
