GoZips Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 The Gahanna Lincoln vs. Pickerington Central HS boys basketball game is being shown on Time-Warner Sports Channel this evening at 7 PM. Aaron Jackson scored twenty points and did a good overall job of leading his team. See chnl 311. Quote
Hilltopper Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 He went head to head against tOSU recruit Devon Tate. Tate got his points, but Jackson shut him down in the second half and Gahanna walked away with a win on the defending D-1 state champs floor. Jackson is another 6-7 wing player who can defend and shoot the 3 ball. Very athletic and long. He will fit right into the Zips lineup next year. Quote

He's just a junior, BTW. Here's the story from the losing side. Quote

"Jae'Sean" sure sounds like DE-von on the TV. The REAL jist`of the story is that Akron incoming recruit, Aaron Jackson, out played the big, strong, skilled Devon/Jae'Sean Tate. To be sure, Tate is impressive to watch and he was surrounded by talented team mates. While the TV announcers were slobbering all over themselves sing Tate's praises Aaron Jackson OUT PLAYED Tate. Jackson was the star and key player for Gahanna Lincoln even though the TV wonks were singing about Javon Bess of Lincoln. Javon is himself a pretty decent player (mid-major caliber). Bess is Lincoln's leading scorer. He has not had the disciplinary suspensions that Aaron has played through. Make no mistake; Aaron Jackson is Gahanna Lincoln's best player. Quote

He's a basketball player. Aggressive, always around the ball making plays, can handle the ball pretty well & flat-out just puts it in the hole. I really hope we're looking at him next year. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 ^^^Can't's offered Javon Bess. I'm tellin' ya, we've gotta get on this guy. He's a baller. He really impressed me when I saw him play in the Dunk-For-Diabetes Shootout and again Pickerington Central on TWC1311. Quote

Akron only has ONE scholarship to give next year. Rest assured that the three players on the Zips radar are light years better than Javon Bess. Nothing against Bess. Javon is a decent mid-major caliber player. He does not fit the profile of the level of recruit Akron is targeting. Quote
