g-mann17 Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 The Wagon Wheel Challenge is tied at 6 with just 3 sports yet to be decided. Baseball Men's and Women's Track Now baseball, the deck is stacked against us there. Track on the other hand, we split the indoor, winning the men's title but losing the women's title. So it would seem Can't will take it again this year, but no so fast my friends. Both men and women walked away with victories in a Dual meet against Can't last weekend. So if you're not busy get out to Lee Jackson Field this weekend for either track or baseball. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 Are the track MAC championships at UA? Yes. Quote
LZIp Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 This is off topic, but it isnt worth making a new thread for. Just saw the OU softball play on sports center, and that the MAC tournament was in Akron. Its too bad the tournament wasnt on campus as well as the track tourney. Quote

Also really unfortunate the Zips are not in it. Quote
MDZip Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 The Men did their part in Track winning the MAC championship. The women finished 2nd but sadly behind only Can't State so the series is tied 7-7. Only a miracle by the Zips baseball team can pull it out this year. I hate losing anything to Can't. They need to reestablish a mens soccer team. Quote
zippyfan34 Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 In baseball the top 8 make the MAC tourney and the Zips are a 1/2 game out of 7th/8th place. They need to take at least 2 out of 3 from Can't to have a chance. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 I hope a lot of Zips fans show up for this series. The team has improved under coach Rembielak, although they still have a long way to go. Quote
MDZip Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 I know its not the biggest deal but with the football win it puts the Zips up 3-2. Akron men's and women's cross country and football and Can't's volleyball and women's soccer. The challenge is only in it's third year but the Flashes won it both of previous years and the ladies need to step up. Despite having 8 sports they have yet to pick up more than three points in any year. And whoever is responsible for the site on the Akron side needs to step it up too. On the Wagon Wheel Challenge Site for Can't on the "Best Victories" portion, they have 8 contests listed. Akron has "coming soon". Are we taking this seriously or not? Quote
