Z.I.P.
Does "missing" mean someone hadn't already heard about the departure? Andy Chiu has transferred to Boston College. Alfred Koroma is gone to SMU, latest I heard. We will probably actually miss Koroma's presence on the field a lot, as he is an all-America caliber player. Andy's loss is of another type -- mostly symbolic, as he would likely not have earned much playing time at Akron. However, he is the type of academic all-everything performer that top-flight college athletic programs need to show they are more than overgrown jocks. He filled the role that was served a few years ago by the blogging benchwarmer from Tucson -- someone remind us of his initials again. Sorry, man! I miss him, AND Andy. Good luck to both. Missing, as in they're no longer on the roster. Alfred Koroma was the only transfer I knew about though.

Kayvon Afsarifard is the only surprise for me. He cannot transfer a second time. I have always liked his game. Koroma is overrated. Not sour grapes. How much time is he seeing in U20 WC? SMU? Really? Full disclosure: I was driving his bandwagon at one time.
Crew8
Andrian McAdams has joined Shaun Docking and transfered to Costal Carolina Not sure on the rest, but currently playing with developmental clubs. Kayvon Afsarifard out on the West Coast with Sport Club Orange County. A new U23 developmental league. Seen this live last Friday evening. Chase Jabbori played a few minutes for Detroit City FC against AFC Cleveland. (Tommy Schmitt scored the first goal in a 3-2 loss to Detroit City FC) On a side note, happen to see Fernando Pina, Phil Fives, and Matt Foldesy are also with the Crew Academy along with Souders. Have those three always been with the Crew Academy?
ap95@zips.uakron.edu
I saw McAdams at one of the spring games, wearing his college cup 2010 windbreaker, along with Omari Morris in Toronto FC Gear. Andy Chiu, McAdams and Kayvon had combined for one appearance with the team, and 7 years on the bench. The desire to transfer is understandable. McAdams and Kayvon will be 4th Year Junior this fall, if they play. Rinalli and Jabori were likely non-scholarship players, and out-of-high school freshmen who didn't see minutes coming. Morris, while on scholarship, i was told was more of a developmental prospect. All should feel free to seek greener pastures.

Here's the Class of 2012 http://www.thecrewyouth.com/Classof2012/index_E.html and other classes: http://www.thecrewyouth.com/CollegeBoundAt...es/index_E.html It would be nice to see more Akron players in Crew uniforms. Zip_ME87
Noticed it here - Crew Juniors U-19s claim fourth-straight USYS State Cup The Crew does an absolutely ATROCIOUS job of putting rosters and game information on their website for their development teams. I might go to Columbus in the summer for some of the matches if I could find out the Akron players on the roster and the schedule of matches. It's great to know after the fact that the U-19s won. One more reason I dislike the Crew organization.

One more reason I dislike the Crew organization. Fair reasoning, but do any of the other clubs put out that kind of info. I don't follow other clubs, so I don't know. Other than the reserve squad, I don't see much info across the board in MLS. To be fair, I don't think it draws that much interest to the general public. I recommend following Crew Youth on Facebook or Crew Soccer Academy on Twitter if you're looking for updates on youth matches.

I've focused on the Crew Academy because it's the one that I'm most likely to attend due to proximity. I don't understand why MLS can't do as well as PDL at updating/maintaining the information on their youth teams on line. This, to me, is another way to help grow the sport and the interest in MLS. I follow the Crew Academy on twitter, but I do not have and will not get a Facebook account (just my preference).
