ZachTheZip Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 Blurb from the Pittsburgh Tribune. Too bad they don't know our coach's name. Quote
LZIp Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Looks to be another great get! Wonder if Kincade had anything to do with it? Quote
Zipmeister Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Looks to be another great get! Wonder if Kincade had anything to do with it? I am going to go out on a limb and say yes. From Trib article linked above... “I was already interested in Akron, but once I heard Chandler committed, I definitely wanted to go check out the school,” Boxen said. “You want to look where other people find a good fit.” Quote
Blue & Gold Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 That's two 3-star recruits before July 15th. This is by far the earliest I ever recall Akron receiving a verbal from a 3-star player, let alone two of them. Way to go Coach Bowden! Go Zips! Quote

Thank You Chandler, keep them coming!!!! Go Zips Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 14, 2013 Author Report Posted July 14, 2013 He's got to be pretty high up there in the "best football name" category. Quote
K92 Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 I'm bullish on Boxen! Keep the momentum rollin' baby! Quote
Buckzip Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Scout lists him as a 275lb guard. Rivals as a 250lb DE. 247 as a 300lb DT. I understand that the position depends on what he is best projected or being recruited as. But the weight difference is ridiculous. Either way it sounds like a nice pickup. Quote

Watching his scout video, he looks like a great talent at DE, I don't see him at DT. Quote
