Z.I.P.
Congratulations to DeAndre Yedlin for being named to the 2013 MLS All Star Team. 1st Zip, I believe and 1st rookie since 2005. How can Klinsmann not take notice of DeAndre? I'm sure he has to be at the top of the list for look-sees as soon as the World Cup is complete. Any chance of his being in a senior camp before next June? Here's another article with DeAndre's response to being an MLS All-Star. "Yedlin seems to be taking all of this in stride, especially considering it wasn’t so long ago he was contemplating which classes to take heading into the second semester of his sophomore year at Akron." Mind you, any All-Star game is about marketing and hype. That being said, I would hope to see Yedlin in a USMNT Camp, along with Kofi, Zarek and Bunbury. Personally, I think Perry Kitchen may have the brightest future, but he lacks flashy hairstlye and plays deffensive mid. Also, compared to Costa Rica or Jamacia, it's harder for younger players to crack the top team, due to the size of the player pool

A few international friendly dates in November. I have not heard of any rumors of who the USMNT are playing yet. Or surely a January/February Camp Cupcake. Yedlin's time will come if he continues to excel. Yedlin and Sarkodie have the best opportunity because the position is lacking the most. For Z.I.P. Bobby Wood's name has been coming up a lot in my 1860 Munich feed. Hope the kid stays healthy. He has a real chance to make the starting eleven this year. Rumor is Klinsmann called him into the Gold Cup, but 1860 requested he stay.

Also, compared to Costa Rica or Jamacia, it's harder for younger players to crack the top team, due to the size of the player pool I don't think Kitchen has been overlooked because of his hair, it's probably because you can't scout a player when shoving forks in your eyes is literally less painful than watching the player's club team. Also, Kitchen is behind Mike Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Mo Edu, a back in form Stu Holden, Kyle Beckerman, and now probably Mix Diskerud. Yedlin and Sarkodie are behind an aging Steve Cherundolo, an uncertain Timmy Chandler, a Bottom feeder Bundesliga bench warmer in Michael Parkhurst, and then a handful of average MLS rightbacks. If you really look at the depth of those positions, it would be much easier to break through as a rightback than a center mid. As for Teal, the striker pool is somehow deeper now than when he chose to play for the US. I think even when he gets healthy, he still sits behind Jozy, TBoyd, Agudelo, and those are just the guys his age who have been capped. I hate to say it, but I think he could end up regretting turning his back on his birth country. I think Yedlin, Sarkodie, and Kitchen (later down the line) will all end up being capped by the senior team. Also I'm thinking Jurgen Klinsmann will be standing outside the citizenship office with a US jersey for Nagbe the day he is officially a US citizen. Klinsman will drive Nagbe to the citizenship office. I agree with everything you say, Yaz. USMNT has an abundance of Holding MF and precious few Attacking MF. Nagbe certainly fits the bill there. Also, Outside Back is currently very a good place to break into the lineup. Consequently, Yedlin and Sarkodie (not necessarily in that order) will be called up before Kitchen. I still think Kitchen will get there.

I think it is absolutely a fair comparison. At the Porter farewell 12/12/12, I asked them, standing next to each other, who would win in a foot race? Both declined to answer. Yet another awkward moment created by me! Hurrah! I love both of these players.

Z.I.P.
Okay, but I also vote for the Timber Guy's comment: Nolan Colter1 day ago To my fellow Portland citizens, I bring terrible news. As you know, for the last few years our previous beer mines have been held hostage by a madman - his threats to destroy one for each week the Timbers do not win GotW has forced us to spend nearly our entire lives voting for our team in a weekly contest on a website. However, this week, there were no Timbers goals nominated, and desperate times call for desperate measures. I ask that all of you send a mail-in vote for Caleb Porter to the MLSsoccer.com home offices... without our beer, billions of innocent people in Portland could wind up being involuntarily sober. It's the only way.
Crew8
On my way to the USA Gold Cup watch party in Akron Wednesday, I happened to catch DeAndre Yedlin on SiriusXM FC Counter Attack radio show. Nice interview, talked about Akron, Porter, and his MLS experience. Here's a short bit of the interview https://soundcloud.com/siriusxmsports/deand...in-sea-sounders
mes102
There's rumors flying around that Yedlin might be on his way to Portland. Timbers have the top allocation slot and Seattle wants Dempsey. Rumor is if Portland gets any compensation, they want Yedlin(according to a bunch of tweets) Link to the rumor EDIT: Looks like MLS and Seattle are trying every way possible to find an end-around to keep Portland from benefiting in this... Portland will get nothing. This is the Dempsey rule. Seattle will not need to go through the allocation process because Dempsey will be considered a Designated Player is what I have read. In most professional sports leagues, talent acquisition rules are, at best, difficult to understand. MLS rules are inscrutable and ever changing. Wow! Deuce and EJ will be formidable. bobbyake
If you already bought a Yedlin jersey with #2 on it, you'll have to get a new one. Dempsey is taking his number.
