Michigan State Spartans

saw the spartans play once this year against the buckeyes

Mich St. was clearly the better team, but the bucks managed to eke out a draw by hoofing it in the direction of tall dudes. More proof that soccer is fundamentally nihilistic when it comes to aesthetics/skill, I guess.

In any event, should be a good game.

Looks like the weather will be miserable, if you count 40` and rainy as miserable.

Not sure if this will favor one team over the other, but it will definitely not favor me.

Is it too inclimate to tailgate?

The men and women will arrive around 5pm or later to tailgate as usual in the same spot.

fknbuflobo, I looked and looked for a university advisory for Inclement Weather, and the closest I came was this safety policy. Now you also know who to call in case of a chemical spill.

I do hope this helps. If you were looking for policy on intimate weather, you will have to look elsewhere. :D

You can't win if you can't score works for all sports. But I guess you have to add for soccer that you can't lose if you can't be scored on. The Zips defense deserves a lot of credit for holding both Wake Forest and MSU scoreless. This year's team is very good. But Zips fans have been spoiled by greatness, and that requires excellence from both the defense and the offense. If the Zips football or basketball programs were hanging in the top 20 in the country after losing their best coach ever, we'd all be ecstatic.

Thank you Dave for saying what seems obvious, yet rare to read. And as far as the improvement to our central defender, I'm glad to see Drew Souders is earning some respect. I haven't seen him play since he captained the US U-17 national team, but I suppose he still has time to become an elite player. :P I love the standards Caleb established. :D

I wonder if Florida fans are happy after Urban Meyer left and years later they are still just a barely ranked team?

I wonder if USC is happy with the results after Carroll left?

If I am at the top and established at the top, I want to stay at the top.

Most of the chemical spill went down my throat. But thanks for the advice.

I sometimes get crazy and post without a spill check. Spell check. :P

comments from MSU website:

"Akron is a very good team and they are even better at home," said head coach Damon Rensing. "I thought we showed a lot of good character tonight. We did some very good things and certainly created some chances. Certainly, they created quite a bit of chances. I think any time you go into that tough an environment and play, not give up any goals, create some chances and can potentially win the game, I think you did alright. The work rate of the whole team was special tonight. They dug in and defended, they ran forward on the break when we had chances to get forward, we pushed numbers forward. The guys put a great effort in tonight. We went in there with the attitude to win the game. We unfortunately didn't get the goal, but a tie on the road against a very good Akron team isn't the worst thing."

That kid is a tackling machine! Do not make eye contact with the Souders. Cross the street to avoid the Souders. He wants contact. He turns 50/50% into 70/30%. Dribble at your own peril.

Seriously, we have not seen this type of ferocious tackling at CB since Corey Sipos.
