Zipmeister Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=95237Thought you might be interested in the above link which includes lots of opinions on what the Big East should do regarding football, with no mention of any team from the MAC. Quote
gozips19 Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 this is from collegefootballnews.com side note: they also do the previews for foxsportswho do you think the Big East will suck in from CUSA in the event of another expansion raid? – MWA: Here’s the trickle-down effect I see potentially happening in the very near future. To get to a 12-team league, the Big East will likely snag UCF, East Carolina, Memphis and Southern Miss because of their size as well as their football programs. Marshall might be in that mix taking USM’s spot, but the Big East wouldn’t be doing jumping jacks over having two teams from West Virginia. Conference USA would then likely pick get Navy and then make offers to Toledo, Miami University, and Northern Illinois from the MAC. Remember, this is all speculation.also the question was asked for conference champs and they have either toledo or niu "flip a coin" nice to see we are still getting no love Quote

What a piece-of-crap conference that would be. The remaining CUSA table scraps would likely disband and join other conferences.Navy join a conference like a dilapidated CUSA? No chance. The writer loses any credibility he had after writing that one. Quote
zipboy Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I agree, CUSA holds no appeal at that point. They are a 1 bid league in bball and with Memphis gone have nothing left. They are fragmented geographically and have little regional rivalries. Quote
