2014 Zips in Pro Leagues Domestic and International

Actually, Matt Doyle believes Scotty stays in the lineup, and Jones plays in font of him.

Interesting. From what I know of both players, I would make Jones one of the two HMFs in 4-2-3-1 and push Caldwell into one the three OMFs.

DC United was the first Eastern Conference team to clinch an MLS playoff spot tonight with a draw vs SKC. Perry Kitchen was out of the line up due to yellow card accumulation. The announcers interviewed him before the game and mentioned that since he's been with DCU, they have yet to win without him. If that is true, then that statistic continues.

USA vs Ecuador player grades from ESPNFC

M DeAndre Yedlin, 8.5 -- The best U.S. player all night. Provided the assist on Mix Diskerud's goal, and was active and clever going forward, which he did often from his right midfield spot. Defensively sound, too.

DeAndre will also be with the USMNT vs Honduras Tuesday night October 14th.

Akron can make a ridiculous pro Best XI out of former players

Since the mid-aughts, Akron’s been churning out quality soccer players at an incredible rate. If Akron under Ken Lolla was a regional power and nationally respectable, Akron under Caleb Porter was an out-and-out machine. Since Porter took over in 2005, the Zips have produced nine first round MLS draft picks and a handful of undrafted stars in the making. Even Porter made it to the pros...

EDIT:

akronXI.jpg

"...the craziest thing about this lineup is every player on it has turned pro since 2010. What?

Don’t forget the bench, either. This team has options. Scott Caldwell, who’s played 55 games in MLS’ best midfield over the last two years, would be a no-doubt bench player. Kofi Sarkodie is available as well, meaning you could move Yedlin up to RM, push Mattocks up top, slide Nagbe into the hole and scoot Sarkodie into the right back position. Ben Speas is a late-game option, and so too is Ben Zemanski, who filled in ably for Will Johnson and can do the same for either Kitchen or Trapp. ..."

Klinsmann reveals the main reason why Yedlin will succeed at Tottenham

...“He’s a very rare and a very special kid,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.

“He’s obviously very energetic, technically-gifted and fast, but most importantly he’s a quick learner.

“He’s a sponge. He will come here with Pochettino and say, ‘Tell me and I’ll try it.’

“Of course, it will take time. It will take time for him to break through here, to adjust and pick up the pace of the Premier League, but he can do it.”...

Looking forward to watching Scott Caldwell and Teal Bunbury with the New England Revolution (Eastern Conference Champions) vs either LA or Seattle for the MLS Cup. If it's LA, I no doubt will be cheering for the Revolution. I'd prefer, however, to sit back and enjoy watching Teal & Scotty up against DeAndre at CLink.

DeAndre Yedlin to Tottenham by end of 2015.

I think you meant "2014".

Personally, I have my doubts whether DeA will be treated any better in North London than Jozy Altidore has at Wearside. Haven't seen Spurs play much this year -- who's holding down the RB spot?

Kyle Walker, he has been injured the entire season, but is expected back in a few weeks. Maybe Yedlin will get fast tracked to the squad if Walker is unable to recover in time. I don't know if that would be good or not, but I'm sure Yedlin would be up for the challenge. RB has been a problem for Spurs all season.
