Balsy
Last night (a Thursday night, while there was already NFL Thursday Night Football) ESPN had Arizona vs. #2 Oregon. Today ESPN has Utah vs. #18 BYU. I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks about the Pac-12, Mountain-West accepting weekday game deals with ESPN. All of the same arguments as to why we don't want weekday night games should apply to them. Why are weekday games okay for Arizona...Oregon...Utah...BYU, Stanford (next week), UCF (next week) but not us in the MAC?
K92
Weekday games are great for people who want to watch on tv. They suck for people who want to attend.

Why are weekday games okay for Arizona...Oregon...Utah...BYU, Stanford (next week), UCF (next week) but not us in the MAC?Because these games are on ESPN, not ESPN3, these conferences earn real money- pay the MAC millions per games, not a couple thousand, make sure the broadcast isn't a 3 hour advertisement for the weekend games, make sure the announcers have a clue about the teams playing and limit it to one game per team on an oddball day and I am in. Otherwise, tell ESPN to go screw themselves and have the Zips play on Saturday afternoon.
Zipmeister
Why is the Can't Stater public record requesting UA on the issue of the MAC ESPN contract. Couldn't they just as easily public record request Can't State? In a side note: It is the almighty Akron Beacon Journal that should be breaking this. Not the Can't Stater. What an epic fail ABJ. LAZY reporting.Read the entire link. LAZY reading.
Jrship35
Not much negotiating power until the MAC can secure some more big wins against the Power 5 conferences (or whatever they are calling them)................As I agree that the AD's in the conference are the ones on the hook for the contract negotiations (good or bad), I assume the sure money is more comfortable to them than taking the chance of selling more tickets and missing out on the sure bet .................. Just my opinionWinning cures many ailments !! By the way ................ I also hate week day games !!!!

uhgrad2002
The lost ticket sales are not limited to the weeknight game. For instance, I have been buying season tickets for myself and my wife since the last years in the rubber Bowl. That's 12 tickets a year. I will not be renewing if there is more than one weekday game on the schedule and will not be going to those games. Say the schedule is like last year. That is six less tickets. My wife will not go if the weather is bad, so say there is a rainy Saturday. Now we are down seven tickets. Now suppose there is a scheduling conflict. Since I am not going to every game anyway maybe I choose the other event. Down eight or nine tickets now. At that point maybe I say screw it and develop a different habit for Fall Saturdays. Down 12?
