Balsy
They're still butt-hurt over that loss. You have no right to complain about losses like that, because you shouldn't have let it get to the point of a goal-line stand to win/lose the game. GoZips
Have to laugh at the silly, hateful remark.September 10, 2006: Akron 20, NC State 17 Just embarrassing. Also, the Akron runner's knee clearly touched the ground before he scored the game winning TD, and somehow the replay officials chose to not even review it. Not on the list only because this entire year was a disaster and one more win would have changed little.Driving home from that game we listened to the three hour long post game show. The commentator repeatedly made the following remark. "Folks, we have watched the replay more than forty times. The Akron player scored every single time."Since the game was televised it was camparatively easy to Photoshop the last play of the game. Which persons unknown, promptly did. Sour grapes. NC State lost. Period. Get over it.In a one-on-one conversation with Coach Chuck Amato after his arrival in Akron to coach the Zips I asked him about the play. Coach Amato claimed that the runner's knee DID touch the ground shy of the goal line. His opinion. Coach also admitted that on the previous play the Akron QB, Luke Getsy, scored standing up. The officials then placed the ball on the two yard line claiming Getsy was down. Replays show that Getsy did actually score. So much for honest officiating. Balsy
Is it just a little Ironic that Chuck Amato was talking smack about Akron...only to endu up in Akron himself?
Captain Kangaroo
While that game could be described as comical...historical...memorable...and a lot of other things (depending upon your point of view), in 2014 I am ecstatic to have Chuck Amato directing the Zips defense. Under unbelievable circumstances the guy has out-worked, out-recruited, out-motivated and out-strategized pretty much every offense he's faced. The 2013 Zips D was as good as I've ever seen it. He meshed a bunch of transfer mercenaries and Ianello leftovers into one of the top defenses in the MAC.Amato was a goofball in 2006. He's indispensable to the Zips in 2014. I hope he's on our sideline for the next 10 years.
