Dr Z
This may apply to only one or two people, but if they read it, and can take advantage, it will be worth the post. I'm a pretty big sports and music fan. More than a decade ago, I decided I had had it with normal radio, same normal music, and the sports coverage and discussion all but deteriorated. I bought a lifetime subscription to Sirius radio. I have been fairly satisfied throughout the years. While the product is excellent, they may have the worst customer service department on this planet. I have always had "free" internet access to channels and the on demand stuff (which is cool), but if I downloaded the app to my iPad or iPhone and entered my password it indicated that you need to upgrade your subscription. I think it's an additional $4 a month with a subscription. I really didn't care to spend more. Turns out, you don't have to. If anyone is in my exact situation, here is how to get your app working without an additional charge. Apparently the app does not work with "simple" passwords. A decade ago it was fine to use a password "abcdefg", now you should be using caps and numbers for security. I haven't logged into my account in years, because I had no need. If you simply log on to your account (not the internet player) from a browser, you will be prompted to change your password to a stronger one if you had a simple one. After you change to a stronger password, go back and enter that on your iPhone or iPad app...full access including all sports packages (MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL/NCAA). I found this "loophole" buried in a forum while searching for something totally different for a friend. This only applies to the subscribers that took advantage of the "lifetime" subscription a decade ago. They don't offer this anymore. I know this works for more than me, because I know two other people that have taken advantage since informing them.
Dave in Green
Dr Z, that's a great example of how the internet can provide useful information on obscure subjects. I recently revived an old, non-functioning stereo turntable by finding detailed instructions on a vintage stereo forum. Do you recall how much you paid 10 years ago for you lifetime subscription? The offer I've never forgotten for more than 50 years is the one from Playboy Magazine back around 1960. They offered a lifetime subscription for just $50, and the first issue was personally delivered to your door by a Playboy Bunny! Having recently entered puberty at the time, I desperately tried but ultimately failed to figure out a way to make it happen without my parents knowing.

Dave in Green
I'm well preserved, as my younger wife will attest.

Dave in Green
$399.99I did a quick search and found on the Sirius Support Center that after June 2005 the lifetime package was changed to the lifetime of the receiver, not the lifetime of the customer. People who signed up after that can switch to a new receiver for an additional charge, but only three times. After that the lifetime service ends. The original deal you got for true lifetime service at just $399.95 was a really smart move on your part.
